I’m not ashamed to admit that almost everything I’ve built the past couple of years has in some way been based on things found on blendingcurves.comIt is a top notch resource and the gentleman behind it deserves the highest praise.  Can’t thank him enough.  Everything there is top notch.  The only tweak I would make would be to also offer the templates as a single sheet on 24" paper so people could go to the local blueprint shop and easily get it printed.  Blueprint shops generally always have a roll of 24" paper loaded in one of their machines.  A savvy blueprint shop can also enlarge or reduce the template.  Being 45 years old 6’1 and 210# I enlarge the templates when I print them for any boards I make myself.  On the flip side you will see I’ve made a lot of grom sized boards and for those I am reducing the drawings to scale using the plotter software.   I happen to sell blueprint machines in my day job and have all the tools.  I use In-design software to turn his 10 sheets into a single sheet so I can print it as one sheet.  Not everyone has this sort of software at their disposal.  Having the files available as a single sheet would probably help many.

Pictures…you want pictures…

This board is my own design but the glass on fin is courtecy of blending curves.

One of my personal riders made from an enlarged blending curves template.

Another, this one is a blending curves template reduced to 5’2

Three boards, three different sized.  One blending curves template file.  5’6  6’6  5’8

One from just a couple of weeks ago.

I could keep going…

Nug c 5’4" shrunk to 5’3"

Looks good but how do you go keeping wax on the black? I’ve got one with just a bit of black around the rails and it gets real hot, real quick

Dont leave it in the sun. Nah its not mine but the chic who I made it for has no problems. The colour comes through the black when its in the bright sun so maybe thats why… I don’t really know.

Fair enough.

Wow… I must say, I feel as if I’ve missed out on a huge part of the community having only just found out this website exists right this second - this is awesome! I’ve got an old longboard my buddy wanted me to turn into a fish, but I didn’t have any fish templates and was gonna tust try my hand at making one in akushaper - this certainly saves me a lot of time and headache! Gonna have to try a few of these myself - I always design my own outlines, and rarely use a full template (I usually just piece together various parts of swing-templates lying around the shop to create the curves I want), but I’m actually pretty eager to try some of these!

Yeah guys! Keep it coming!!

Spread the word.

.

Mako, Thanks for the kind words. I’m just happy to share the stoke and keep this little underground vibe going. More to come, including “one page” pdfs.

Here are a few.

They are modified a bit to my liking but they are based on bc templates.

the sting is not my cup of tea tail wise but the guy I made it for wanted a more fish based outline - he loves it but it’s not for me.

Nice looking board resinhead,  Actually I should give kudos to all.

Thank you blending curves for what you provide to the amateur hacks   you help make us look better then what we really are.  I Have used your templates to do my own modified speed egg shape.  Mix and match with the good old  bender board process.  Next will be a sting long board with a pulled in nose something around 17-17.5 nose 22.75 wide point behind center. Kind of thinking of it as a winged Pig model. The fin templates are a nice new addition.  Have you thought of adding some fin lay out designs?

This thread is cool, I like being able to see how the template actually looks, and its cool to see everyone’s version of each template.

Thanks all who posted some pics, digging them all. Just some food for thought I made a board from 2 template’s that I called “the nugtro” nug nose and a retro tail and meet them in the middle.after all it is blending curves…2 color shades of green tint stripes on bottom for anti sharks

7’ x 22 x 3 : second build

There we go!  Now go to sleep.  Waves tomorrow!
