carve of the week

RK puts one on a rail in San Diego last year. Nothing quite as fancy as the Purcho fin here, but it is the 6’0 mini Simmons twin he’s riding

Hey Boys, firstly I had a long talk with Frosty, the fcs rep that gave me the news. He’s a good guy, the problem I have had with them over the years is the changing of staff frequently so I’ve rarely known who I’m dealing with, that combined with being way down the list, my fin, in priotories. What I said is what happened, it’s now up to them if they want to continue with me and my fins, there’s no hard feelings from my point of veiw, I will always speak my mind though. On the side wings and the 6 1/2" that Neal is using, they are completely different from the redtip and at the moment I don’t really want to put them in the public domain, although I also own the design of the sides in Aus. Neal and I are halves in the other one. Tom and Glen have been trying the sides as four fins, Neal’s is up the board as in 2*1, the 5 finner I’ve been trying is 4 sides with an old multi fin version of the redtip in the back. This kind of board is more of a muck around for me, I’ve found that in good solid waves, barrells etc, I like the normal thruster with the redtip in the back, when it gets a little flatter or smaller I have another 5 1/2" wing that goes about 5 1/2 up the board, I just put 1 extra plug in the back for this setup. By the way lets not forget Kong who I was speaking to yesterday, he has had his problems with fcs, finally got some product, among that was 3 redtips, he said he has’nt taken them out of his boards for about 4 or 5 years, as far as we’re concerned we’ve done our job, we feel differently about the support we’ve received , hope it works out with them because I like the product and the protection they afford, it’s a nasty world out there and I could see some factory in China getting stuck straight in , so that’s pretty much where I’m at now , plenty of fin companies around, none with the reach of fcs, cheers H. ps on Milchy’s puter, should be up and running in the next couple of days.

aheeeem

hows this for a filty hack

raglan dunno who

Silly, that’s epic- how deep is that gouge he’s made in the face of the wave? I do love seeing a good turn.

Hey Sil, like replying in this thread, explained in the surfdog’s thread, good to see you hav’nt lost any passion [heat], even though it must be freezing over there at the moment. Had’nt had a surf in a while and it was a trully beautifull day up here today. I started reading an old Tracks mag at work and went , f//k it I’m going surfing, got my board and headed down the Tweed coast, radio said up to 1.2 mtr swell, slight offshore, I’ll tell you, those long beaches with the gutters along the shore do nothing for me, probably used 20 bucks worth of juice, ended up at Snapper. If I was to get into that cup of tea thread, which was nice by the way, it would’nt look pretty, at my beach you have look for the weak, sad but true. Jezz it was nice though, absolutely perfection, only about max 2 ft on the sets, so zippy, it’s easier to drop in, I like it small or bigger , it’s the medium stuff where it gets mentally crowded. check ya mate, H.

Hey JH , you shoulda drove a little further , it was cooking down here today. Perfect , uncrowded lefts near my house.

PM me if you ever wanna surf report down here.

Steve

Hey Mate, finally got the puter running, anyway they reckon they judge the pros[at times] on the amount of spray they throw, that guys winning, big water , big turn, dig it, H.

Hey Steve, nice to speak again, I was at Byron on Monday taking Danny’s Chope’s boards to him. I had to get home for the garage door guy, funny how prioties change. Will be trying to get down there more, it’s only half an hour to Byron now[not on Qld public holidays] will pm you for your phone #, it’s a great time of year up here, absolutely perfect weather, just need a little kick in the swell, cheers, H.

Hey Harry, this was Wed morning. Unattended and perfect.

Didn’t take photos of the lefts around the corner.

The Point had 50 guys out

yeah i bet he scored some pussy after that turn

or maybe not, i guess surfing doesnt really work like your normal chick scoring activities

if big spray turns dont equate to top pussy

whats the point

get a environmentally friendly woody single fin

you might end up with more hippy chick action

steve watch out man if you keep posting pics of warm uncrowded waves you may end up with a new neighbour

ah steve northern rivers early winter

               hard to beat

Yeah ditto here.

Sharks keep 'em all away…that spot is patrolled by huge bull sharks, great whites in the spring

looks like I need to try to get a refund on my ticket then.

hey burnsie harry said to show you this

you to mike.

Good lookin’ stick , is it one of Harry’s ? More pictures ?

Thanks Huie, I thought he’d forgotten about me, I hope he’s keeping well.

Thats a real interesting board, Is it set up to run with the Center fin all the time or does it work as a quad too ? I imagine the fins take ages to foil.

harry has ridden it as both goes good

                                                                       huieshapes@bigpond.com
