There was one in that movie “Blue Crush”…

That’s her on the far left.

I doubt that. She may have shaped the original board the model is patterned after though. -Carl

Not being sexist, but I think it is Yater’s son that shapes. He just has a name typical of a girl like Kelley Slater.

Not a shaper but Tiffani K. here in Melbourne is 1 of the only female glassers that I know of

Cut her teeth in the Panhandle under Robb D from Country/ Davis Shapes. and AJ from Cannibal here before doing her own thing

Thanks folks! Seems like there are not alot out there. Can anyone find a website featuring a feamale shaper?? Happy hunting!!

from the Bing website:

Bing Ashley Lloyd Signature Model

Standard Sizes: 9’0” to 10’0”

Nose: 18”

Middle: 22 1⁄4” – 23 1⁄2”

Tail: 15 1⁄4 “

Thickness: 3” and up

A new addition to the Bing team, Ashley Lloyd is a professional women’s longboarder and avid surfboard shaper. Ashley made a name for herself gracefully sliding traditional single fins across Malibu’s beloved First Point. One of the rare surfboards shaped by a woman, the Bing Ashley Lloyd Signature Model features a rounded pin tail, soft 50/50 rails, and a blended concave appropriate for any type of wave.

…that would suggest otherwise, no?!

Thats pretty surprising! Lets look at this logistically. Ashley lives in Santa Cruz, about 3 blocks from my house. Bing is located in Hermosa Beach. I see Ashley almost daily, be it in the water, looking at the waves, etc… we surf the same spots. Not only that, she spends alot of time hanging out with a friend (and fellow Arrow shaper) of mine. If she was bouncing back and forth from Hermosa Beach shaping, or shaping somewhere in town, I’d know about it. So, like I said- I doubt it. Now, in her defense, she can shape, and does ride her own boards mostly. So with that in mind, I can see a master being scanned and replicated, finished up by ghosts or Calvani himself. -C

i <3 suggestive marketing

The name Shannon McIntyre came up on a search for women shapers. I could’nt access her website though.

Has anybody ever seen a custom by Calvani, or is it all just production work? Handed to him on a platter…

I don’t know if ‘handed to him on a platter’ is a fair characterization…

Who ever heard of a Silver Spoon or a Gold Standard before he took the older shapes & updated them with pinched rails & foiled tails? How many teamriders did Hap have before Matt started making boards that could compete?

Maybe I’m a partisan, but the guy can work a planer. Credit where credit is due. He does a heck of a lot more than anyone who makes his “own” model by sanding the ridges off cnc shapes.

you guys obviosly havent looked at my website link… Teena Mcilvven has been shaping with me for 7+ years, had another girl Rebecca Rex b4 that for 2+ years…

also another girl just started polishing with me after doing dings and finishing profiles for someone else for 2 years…

JACKPOT!! Dave thanks! Your website, boards, art and story along with Teena on your team was all super to see and very inspiring. The shapes look good and the airsprays are refreshing from the norm. I want to contact you through your website to pick your brain a little.
