Technology is good . . . provided there’s a balance . . . tech at expense of the environment, well not goo. Tech that helps you do something faster . . .
Its funny we have these tech time savers (we can fly and drive, computers in our pockets more powerful than the ones used to help men walk on the moon. Or humankind walk on the moon for you feminists), but we less time to enjoy life than 200 years ago . . .
I’m getting conflicting reports. Bert won’t comment on the firewire design, and they obviously look hella (using OC slang) different than Bert’s showing at the 05 US Open in huntington. Bert refers to ask mark price for that reasoning. Bert had stated compsands you need to change shape / rocker / thickness etc . … and you cannot use pu / pe dims. But if you scope out firewire’s site, they have standard pu/pe foils, pu/pe dims, pu/pe thickness. The only thing different is you can bust a bufo surfboards on them and they are feather light.
I’ll still get one and test it . . .
So firewire’s a virus . . . lol.
The thing about shapers is you will always need a surfer - shaper interaction to maximize the machine.
a little story
McDonnel- Douglas, in the 60’s made a state of the art jet fighter. Even the Soviets were getting hella scared (sorry I spent some time up in trestles and out of 4 guys, one being me, hella was said 523 times, and none from me / I guess they were stars from the OC) of the F-4 Phantom that could shoot down enemy fighters “beyond visual range”. It had bunch of other “features”
In combat over the skies of vietnam, the soviet fighters 10 years older, cost 1/16 th and with less bells and whistles knocked the socks of the F-4. Alot of it was the F-4 shortcomings such as lack of maneuverability, lack of close range weapons (cannon / short range rockets) necessary for dog fighting etc . . . missiles had 50% failure rate . . .
Only when US pilots for both Navy / Airforce under went retraining to compensate, or when F-4’s got upgrades to fix alot of bugs, did they begin to start win the dogfights.
But it was hard lesson to learn . . .
So now fighter pilots participate in the design of the next generation fighters . . .
I think there will always bee surfer + shaper … . . or else you’ll have boards that can do your taxes, make toast, are cheap in cost, allow you d/l MP3’s but can’t seem to surf well . . .
