Galveston / Surfside Get together

I will be in houston / Galveston from the 19’th of august to the 28’th of august (90% sure). Is anyone interested in getting together for a few sessions? (assuming there’s surf and assuming their are no emergencies preventing me from getting down there). I just finished my 7’0" thruster and want to test it out with some other Swayoholics. If anyone is interested, leave a post. make plans tenative (changeable if something happens). I’m looking forward to meeting some other Swaylockians.

P.S. if surf is small I might rent a longboard

Im all for it. If there is any swell i am sure going out, swayaholics are always welcome.

By the way, Today was super clean with waist high swell with some shoulder sets. This is of course 3 days after a hurricane.

Ya, I used to live in houston and went to galveston every weekend for 4 years of highschool. I even still watch soundwaves.com’s live surf camera (points at the jetty on the far end of surfside) Ill pm you when I head down. we can get together and surf a bit. hopefully, the other galveston swaylockins will pick up on this thread.

Scott, I don’t even know if I will be around then, but mid to late august is the flat season here. Mid-June to mid-Sept. (Except for the tropical factor.) We call Surfside – Lakeside, if that gives you any idea. Im really counting on the hope that there will be another tropical swell. thats why I might be down there for 2 weeks. I might be able to pick up either the tail end or the pre-storm surf.

Surf spec. There is an awesome new shop called Ohana. They are new so they dont have much to offer just yet.

Try to pick up the tail end because it is always cleaner and a little more size.

Ok, but the Surfside jettys http://www.surfhousesurfcam.com is more of a longboard spot 'cause of the long jetty, I usually go farther south {no url listed – hehe } to a shortboard spot if you don’t mind a little bit of a drive.
