Girlfriend thinks the beach is more important than her

How do I tactfully tell her that they are equally important and that I can’t be with or without the other. Oh and just for some background info; I’ve lived at the beach for over 15 years and recently moved for a job in a cold area I hate away from the beach. I want to move someplace warmer and near the beach, I miss it understandably. She wants to stay in this area (which is an hour and a half away from me, we don’t live together.) which is near her family. Any suggestions? Move back to the beach and be alone or stay inland in the cold?

Duh, get with the program!

GO SURFING!!

Im in the same boat as you, I say we ditch em and split an apartment somewhere better than the east coast…on the beach

“My girlfreind says if i go surfing one more time she’s going to leave me… and god i’m gonna miss her.”

Is your real name DaveBlakstah?

Mate, I think it depends on your age.

If you’re young then go to the beach. There’s too much surfing to be done.

If you’re older, and love and need the good woman, then persevere. A subversive plan can be slowly hatched to get you both to the coast.

Your choice.

And , is your real name "IMA STUD " ???

…nice one , doley !

Take the beach. Girls come and go. The beach will always be there for you. Get a dog for company. Dogs love the beach. Mike

your only going to go around on this earth once----you better decide what is more important NOW rather than later, 'cause sometimes later never arrives…after my 'wonderful tour of SE Asia, my plan was never to live away from the efects of the tides—i haven’t, and found the love of my life AND she like the beach tooooooo…GO FOR IT!!!

Work towards securing a job that is killer and pays considerably more than the one you have now, near good surf. If that is not good enough reason for her then bail, many good woman out there that would want to be near good waves.

IMO, a reply based on “tact” as THE priority is a compromised subterfuge and should be secondary to a full, honest, direct reply…wouldn’t it be best to know exactly what’s up? Go for direct and respect rather than ambiguity and save yourself the angst of future retorts relating to your lack of clarity. Explain (if appropriate) that you’re not fulfilled living so far from the beach, that it is your goal to return to beach-area proximity, that you (if so) wish to establish a nuclear family of you, she, and yours, without consideration of extended family. I suggest this as an alternative to the usual foundational basis for relationship dissolution, lack of COMMUNICATION OF INTENT AND PRIORITY! Note that your frankness should precipitate her own, which YOU will have to consider. Choose as you will, with the understanding that ANYTHING less than full disclosure is dishonest, and prelude to problems!

tell her the beach is better and see what she does! just like poker…

just kidding, really you’ve gotta weigh it, how great is she? whats more consistent, the waves, or her? I take waves any day, but it doesn’t matter in high school.

keep an eye out for a Va beach/ mid-atlantic meet-up, it seems like every post theres another!

well, if the beach is more important [to her] than her , she won’t mind doing THIS , then …

then , you can have the best of both worlds …you can “rip like LeeDD” , and she can capture your every move , mate …woohoooooooo !!!

Then later , back at your place …it’s YOUR turn with the camera , to capture her …etc

Yer, yer, yer……. Been there, done that and still spent 9 years away from the surf!! It was NOT WORTH IT!

Find a lady who 1) Surfs or 2) Loves the beach. You’ll be a lot happier in the long run!

and this “p.m.” from an anonymous 15yo birthday boy on the east coast of …somewhere …sums it up pretty nicely too, I reckon !!

" haha… funny thing is us swayaholics are the ones girls look at and say…

“darn look at them, BLUE wetsuits , all they care about is surfing, totally afraid of commitment, in love with there surfboards”

Found a professional beach goer. Makes things easy plus she’s always got something to drink on her at all times. Plus other assorted commodities usually not found on surfers lol.

Yes well your surfboard doesn’t get all huffy just because you take another surfboard for a ride once in awhile.…….tee hee……

Got the apartment by the beach, also got the lady who loves the beach… now all I need is surf!

Ask her if she is coming with you, then head for the coast.
