Hull Gathering Feeler - Early April?

With all the recent hull chatter lately, and the AB3 being so much fun, I thought maybe we should do a small get together in the Ventura (so far thats the idea, but its debatable) area for the hull-riders among us.

Casual…hang out and trade boards, ride new shapes and sizes to see what this is all about…SrPato has tentatively donated his living-area for a post-gathering for food and self-puffery through stories of waves past…

Anyone interested at all?

Its looking like w/in a few weeks will be the date, anyone have any concrete ideas on date/time?

This wont be a big thing, just an afternoon at the beach with a bunch of like-minded and like-boarded surfers!

Yep, I’m willing to throw together a huge pot of Jamaican jerk chicken stew, refreshments and crank up the jacuzzi if the weather’s cool enough, which it probably will be since it’s spring. This time of year is a crap shoot with the weather but hey, if it’s crappy, we could just have a party at my place. Show a bunch of surf vids and tell stories.

Let’s see what kind of responses we get.

Marc

I really wanted to try some of the hulls I saw at AB3 yesterday but it was so crowded I didn’t feel comfortable asking. I think it sounds like a great idea, I’ve never ridden one and would like to. I’m in San Diego area so I couldn’t commit to being there.

PS - you had some really nice boards at AB3 surferguy, especially the white one with all the pinlines.

Hey surferguy80, nice boards and it was a pleasure meeting you last weekend.

I would be very down to check out some hulls. I wanted to as well on Saturday, but it didn’t seem like the time or place to try a new shape with all that chaos in the water.

Get this going, I would dig it!

Jerk’s insane – if i wuz there i’d throw in a coupla cases of red stripe and book right now. you needa post pics if you get together.

Hey, you’re right there in the Zone. Just wait on top of one those locks until you see the right freighter, then JUMP!! Carefully tuck yourself between the banana crates and the Toyotas and we’ll see you here in a couple of weeks. We’ve always got room for ya! And plenty of boards.

shoots… don’t tempt me… l love that kinda thing.

Ventura is good for me.

Willing to contribute food and/or drink.

Also willing to carpool some diegans up if they can get

their butts as far as LAX…save on gas costs.

Sounds like a good destination especially with Sr.Pato’s generous offer of home and food. Hopefully the wind and waves cooperate. How’s April 12th?

woohoo!

my buddy and I were talking during the event saying that we should have these things more often, or at least further north…looks like were headed in the right direction!

ill bring a couple boards, I think just the two from the AB3, but maybe ill have time to do one more though…?

Q

April 12th.

I’m in!!!

This time of year, morning will be our best bet. How’z 7:00 AM at stables? (That’s in the pay lot at Ventura Point, for those of you that are unfamiliar.) Cost is only $2.00 for the whole day. Look for the blue VW Westy with a white top. If the weather’s bad we can try to reschedule or just meet at my place for food, movies and check out diff board designs. Everyone’s welcome!

If we know the weather will be bad or the waves flat, we should probably reschedule a week or so but I’ll plan on it for now. I’ll probably bring 3 boards.

So true! If people are traveling a fair distance for this event, we should hold it when the weather allows. For now let’s stick to the 12th.

“bring something chopped and slammed - something micronic”

…Ill see what I can do, I just did a 5’10 thats bound for japan…that thing is micronic for sure, but im betting itll take a pretty nice little wave to get it moving.

Ill make summin’ like this one in the 6’ range if time allows!
