ok i think a fair price for a untested begginer/home builder unless there is a noticeable improvement to whats around.
out of the garage/mates rates price would be around 20 to 25 p/h with a 30% material cost so the lowest i would charge out for a board would be about 600 dollars nz
From the main Sways page I saw this about a builder called Cobalt in Santa Cruz making boards I guess similar to Surftec’s:
“The startup is keeping its prices competitive, with shortboards in the $300s and longboards topping out at $750, including fins. Locally, the boards are available at the Cobalt warehouse; they’re also in shops in California, Oregon, Florida and North Carolina.”
I did notice that you weren’t getting any hits or bites from the darkside
shows you the cheapskateness of the majority versus here.
I’d post it here as JJP sold his quickly
I’m going through craigslist hell now
a bunch of lookiloos and no shows wasting my time for the measily $200-$250 I’m asking just to clean out the garage. The only ones that bite are the ones who know what the others like CMP were charging so in a sense they’re cheapskates too.
easier for me to dump them for the same price for consignment and let a shop owner bump the price up double and sell the hell out of them to make a nice cut… I appreciate the small business shop owners for what they do…
But as we’re finding out our world is mostly full of cheapskates which is leading to everything else that;s been happening. Until that changes it’s gonna end up either Mcdonalds or Ruth Chris Steakhouse for the few.
But post it here… I bet it sells
BTW rode my bamboo skinned high density rail boards today for the first time and did your sounding test.
It was impressive almost musical like you said.
Then my better sense got ahold of me and I thought I wonder what that sounded like to the man in the greysuit so I stopped playing wipeout on my board.
Water was full of cra*p first time I saw it so dirty it reminded me of post hurricane with all the flotsam on the beach felt like I needed detoxing after I came in
Everyone was freaking, Usually the pearl harbor channel sucks everything from town out to deep water. Nice little waves though…
People who shop on EBAY are looking for a deal or steal.
OTOH, it can be a good cheap place to get the word out and expand your potential buyer base exponentially…i.e. cheap marketing/advertizing. Hold your price line. If it doesnt sell, there is likely a valid reason…whether its brand or low demand for expensive exotics…there’s a reason.
