…is now retro…
Herb!!! Good to hear from you. So true
Shark, always appreciate yours and your brother’s comments. The hover craft as a fish-ish mini sim is intriguing. Outside the true believer definition of a fish but still intriguing. The Griffin mod fish is probably as far from the std as I would venture. I guess I’m answering my own question as I read the posts above. Every shaper seems to have a version of the Lis inspiration. Some are more true to the species than others.
George Gall has talked about some fish experimentation he was about to do but he is busy making a living and taking care of biz. As we all must do. Maybe he will chime in?
All the best
I wounder how think that carbon is.
and how to blend it into the board is exciting.
eva rubber. Love it.
cheers
…hello Unclegrumpy; you would notice the effect only in clean conditions.
Do not work properly on mushy conditions.
You can put that board in whatever part of the curl you want and turns in a dime.
Check this old thread out. My brother’s Bushman fish was ordered after he saw the video of Tom Curren riding huge Indonesia on a small fish. In the early 90’s I rode my brother’s 6-2 fish in the biggest waves I ever surfed at Ala Moana Tennis Courts. By the end of the day the waves were closing out between Big Lefts and Courts. Wave faces were 12’-15’. The day before was solid 3-4 feet but too crowded, so I paddled out from Magic Island in the dark. I had no idea that it was huge. Only caught 3 waves in 3 hours. On every wave I had to nurse that board through the bottom turns, but it was all over the wave once I got passed that. I could never do that again, but I was young and stupid.

The photo is not my brother’s board, but one of Tomy Peterson’s creations. My brother’s board does not have channels.
That’s really nice, Herb. Any chance of seeing the deck. From the photo it looks like the tail curve breaks inward after the main rail fin. Perfectly done I think. Breaks it too strong a word. Sweet outline. This thread has started me thinking of another fish. How many does a guy need? Really nice, Herb. Mike
Bushman is an excellent shaper. L
Pretty nice Herbie. L
Nice rocker Herb!
love that man cave Herb, Candy Land
9-3" heavy volan 50/50 rails slight down. Kick tail slight step deck. Shaped in Belmont Shore Long Beach Ca.
Greg if you have not watched the Fish Movie do so Liss says it should be an evolving shape
Hi Herb - nice board. I always called them twinfins.
Herb, Play nice turn that board over so we can see the fin set up and bottom. It’s some kind of evil to just show the deck of a great looking board.
I’m riding this version of the fish style board, it’s my interpretation of Greg Griffin’s hovercraft. I really like the extra bite. Griffin’s 5 fin fish is another really good evolution of the fish.
I Like It sharkcountry. Looks like you left a bit of foam in the Board for some float. Nice collection of old Brooms in the shed.
Used to see Francisco’s boards in the Stewart Shop once in awhile. Lots of Glitter and Deeeep Tints.
