That’s a case of form over function

Heck.  Gimme a chance at it and I’d take it out for a few waves just to see what happens.  But totally agree with oneula’s take on the wastefulness of the whole thing.

Redonkulous.

Interesting twinfin setup.     Seems familiar somehow.

I believe this is the first board I see with outward toed fins.

From the same country who consider Jerry Lewis to be a comic genius

I felt cheated - I didn’t see any pictures of it on a wave

We must be talking about a different France from the one I know…

you know it reminds me of the drawing of a future surfboard Tom Morey did in his “spaceboards” article in Surfer Magazine back in the early 70’s with Vinny Bryan except his was soft.

There are many things to like about the French (Paris, food, duck fat, potatoes Sarlot, cab/franc, trains, the Napoleon museum, Balsa, waves). This just may not be one of them.  And cars might be another.

makes you wonder how much money and time was wasted on designing and building that just for the show.

how many cad designs and high end computer machine time

how many mockups they went through before the final version was blessed off by management

how many $100+/yr salarymen’s hours were used up designing, reviewing and building something like this

that executive management would allow their brand to be publically associated with.

probably more money “wasted” than most here make in a month maybe a year.

shows you how far behind the surf industry is in regarding capital infusion/allocation when it comes to R&D and marketing compared to other industries.

the money spent to market this particular brand globally is probably more than most of the value of  a good portion of the surf manyfacturing industry combined

i dont think its meant to be functional, just a shiny toy to impress the masses with futuristic possibilities.

i could bolt a hydrofoil onto one and give it a go  !!

…the error started when they wrote: “nautical”

would have been better off called the Sashimi Model - as in what that ghastly fin set-up would do to any poor soul it ran over…

ha! Sexy and dark in that photo booth…I can barely see what the hell is going on in there.

I think Newson’s pure nickel board (w/ the help of Brewer) for McNamara was interesting: http://www.iainclaridge.co.uk/blog/781

I feel strangely inspired by it…I want one !!!

Kind of sums up Peugeot’s design ethos these days. They need to employ some more real engineers. For those who havent had the pleasure of replacing Peugeot suspensions parts every 10,000 miles, let me assure you that they have totally lost it with their cars following the Mk1 106 (about 15 years ago). Total rubbish designed by production engineers trying to make it built quick and easy with no consideration of longevity or handling.

Toed out rear quad set up… ?

I do like the look of the wood next to the 3k carbon…but thats it I tell you, the rest is sh1t!

Hey it’s a JOCK !

Those things (surfboards ?) are just style exercices from a 3D designing lab, probably make by students internship. They are virtual, they don’t exists !

Peugeot design lab is a global brand design studio that use name and old industrial history of Peugeot (since 1801).

Martymo you are right, as for many other brands their cars are not as durable as in the past, planned obsolescence needed to stay in live consumer capitalism (many called it the American way of life) is may be for something.

It is not sufficient, we produce in europe 3 millions cars in excess every years !

Peugeot still product in France, they have financial problems, but they distributes significant dividends to
shareholder who want them to product in low cost country to take more !

Sorry for my frenglish

Not sure if Jock Sutherland would like to be associated with this. I guess you meant “joke”.

Exactly, merci Balsa, mon anglais est aussi bon que les shapes de Peugeot LOL.
