Hey chipfish, we may have mutual aquaintances.

I worked at Island for several years and know Greg Hogan.

Great part of the world for consistent waves. Cold and quality are big factors.

I WAS wondering about the ‘woolamai’ knowledge…

IF you want to pm me your REAL name, I’ll see if my brother [simon chipper] was there when you were …small world , eh ?! where do you live NOW ?

Meantime, here’s another excellent aussie sprayer’s work…more Martyn Worthington, from the mid-1970s, Terry Fitzgerald’s quiver…

well done, good paintings [it would be a pity to have to cover them in wax]…do you ever paint just the bottoms of your boards Pedro ?

Bring this thread back! Heres one I finished last week. It’s actually a board that I did before, but didn’t seal it right. It got messed up, so I sanded it off and re-did it. The pictures didn’t come out that great, it looks better in person but you still get the idea.

chad, acrylic on the top coat ?

handpainted , or sprayed ?

What do you seal it with ?

here’s the Master, Martyn Worthington, at work …airbrush on foam. Apparently, Andrew Kidman filmed him for ‘Glass Love’. That alone would be worth getting the dvd for !!

I just did it with paint pens right on the top coat. Roughed it up a little with some 220 grit first. The guys at the local glass shop here told me to use Future acrylic floor sealer to seal it with. I know most people have been using a clear acrylic spray paint, but I figured those guys know more than me so I took their advice. I put 4 coats of it on there and it seem pretty tough. The first one I sealed it with an acrylic spray and I had some trouble with it. I have to leave my board in the car at school sometimes if I surf before class and the wax melted alittle bit and smeared the artwork alittle. I havn’t had this in the water yet, but hopfully it will hold up. If it does, I’ll do my newer boards the same way. I’d love to get in and do some airbrushing right on the foam, but dont’ really have the resources for it yet. I want to get a few boards shaped under my belt before I tackle the airbrushing thing.
