locked out of swaylocks!

For some time now, Bill Thrailkill has been locked out from posting on Swaylocks.  Some glitch allows him to write and receive pm's, but he cannot post messages.  He has tried responding to a post, and his reply will post up, but it will be blank, nothing he writes will post.

If anyone has dealt with this before, or has any ideas, please post here, or pm me, or pm Thrailkill.  It would be great to get this matter resolved.

Mike Paler has been contacted as well, last I spoke with him he thought it was a problem with Bill's computer, not with Swaylocks.  But either way, its preventing Bill from joining the discussions here.

Any help is appreciated.

I have that issue when posting from my phone. Android… I can get PM’s all day long but I cant post into the forums.

Perhaps Bill can register anew as a different user, temporarily, just to see whether it is his computer or not.

He tried that.  "I'm essentially locked out of Swaylocks. Can't post, can't reply, and cannot re-register in Swaylocks. I only have PM capability"

Perhaps try to log on, on a different computer/ different IP address?

I get that when I am looking at Swaylocks on my Nook…

I wonder if Bill were to delet his history if it would fix it?

Maybe?  I suggested he try to restore to an earlier date - don't know if thats standard with all operating systems, but it is on mine (windows xp)

Not sure what would cause this - is it a glitch? - a virus? - a hacker?

I sometimes have this issue on the surfermag bulletin board.

If I clear my history (google chrome) it fixes it.

Hi Bill...

Mr and Mrs Stingray were down at Bird's Surf Shed last week.....Your board was in a different spot but it's awesome...Mrs Stingray thinks that board is very sexy. I think you have been a target of Eric Holder....  you know....a little back lash from the President Obama Special thread.....I think you and I may disagree on some things but I think with politics....we are in the same camp.......hope you get un -locked soon......Ray

Has he tried clearing cookies? Which browser and OS?

I have experienced the same issue. I found it to be something with Internet explorer. I have to use Mozilla firefox or google chrome As my browser and everything works fine.

Bill was just a practice run. Proof I can do it. If you want me to stop send $10.00 to my “PayAl” account to save yourself.

Things are tough, my wife lost her job I got a kid in college and surfboard sales are slow. I had lots of time on my hands to develop this tecnologie stuff and I will use it again.

Download google chrome.

Ask yourself why you never did it before.

OK, he tried re-registering using his household email address, and then posting, but got the same ''comment field required'' message.

I have inquired as to his operating system and internet browser, maybe we can walk him through the clearing-cookies and system-restore process once we know that.

Anyone with some computer savvy who wants to pm him and give him some one-on-one guidance please feel free to do so.  His pm messages are the one thing that is working without any problems.

I’m not computer savvy by any means but that’s exactly what it was telling me. I downloaded Mozilla Firefox web browser and it works perfectly fine. I also just downloaded google chrome, thanks to Chrisp’s advice and it works perfectly fine as well. For some reason if I just use my Internet explorer that nonsense happens.

I used to not be able to post. But then i discovered when posting, if i switched to “simple editor” under the text area, it’d work. Weird huh?
