I prefer Firefox for a number of reasons. Chrome has a clunky interface.
Download Firefox. When I have a computer problem I get my 11 year old neighbor to fix it. he thinks I’m a “fukin’ old geezer”. Plus he charges me after the insult.
Bill has Windows 9 and Firefox ( Had been Windows Vista.) Microsoft recommended a Windows upgrade, which he accepted.
I've lined him out on doing a system restore, and sent him a link to removing cookies in firefox.
If he ever shows up posting, we'll know he got it fixed, or paid ACE the $10 LOL.

Well, there’s the problem. He’s using an OS that does not exist, and so no browser would be compatible.
But seriously… I will assume you meant Windows 7. With Firefox, he needs to click on “tools>options>privacy>show cookies>remove all cookies”. Also, make sure “clear history when Firefox closes” is checked. That should fix it.
I think the confusion is with IE 9. There is no Windows 9. No such thing. 7 is the latest version.

BTW, sorry for the error, I wasn't paying close enough attention when I posted that! (My wife does have a preview version of Windows 8 'tho, so 7 is no longer the latest.)
Hi all,I had the same problem. Typed up something & it disappeared.”comment field required” It’s now fixed and im not sure how? Ask bill to write up something in Microsoft word or similar,copy it & paste it into the comment field box. It’s how I managed to post the first time! Nae that I have very often. Hope that works until he can sort it.

I have to use a button to the right of the address bar in IE9 for "compatibility view" in order to post from my laptop. The icon is the second button on the right of the address bar on my comp and sort of looks like a piece of paper torn in two.
I’m in the IT world but it’s been some time since I had to dabble in the internet connectivity end of things. From the message displayed above, my inkling is that it’s on the Swaylocks end more than the users or ISP’s side. Perhaps there are some cached files on the server side that need clearing out.

re. doyle – I just cleared the software cache. so that’s a first step. I may have the site host restart the server if this continues.
Honestly, I feel this is a client side issue – meaning it’s something to do with Bill & the other gentlemen’s system, whether it be their computer or ISP. I was able to login from my computer (Chrome on Mac OSX) as bill and post just fine. I’ll follow along here and do what I can as any more clues come in.

last week i got a couple of email notices for new posts to the ‘new china surf shop’ thread which, after clicking on the link, led to a page which said that i ‘didn’t have permission to access’ it. was the thread actually deleted before i got around to reading the updates, or has it been moved to another section where only admins or moderators have access? first time to ever encounter such a puzzling lockout here - what really happened to the thread?

Howzit chris,I am sure it has to do with the program they are sing to get on the internet combined with the program Mike uses here on Sways and it's security software. I had it really bad when I was in the hospital and had just got out from my surgery. I had to unintall my internet express and upgrade to IE 8 and wasn't sure what would happen but when I got through it worked just fine like it had never had a problem in it's life time and after almost 3 year ir is still running great.After using a computer for almost 17years they still amaze me by out of nowhere's showing me a functin that I had no idea they had and could be used to do something that I needed to do. Kind of reminds me of that guy on that program Pawn when he says " After all these years he still can't believe what comes through the front doors ". One of these days he will wake up and for no reason at all it will be working and he won't know why but just be glad it works. Aloha,Kokua
