Okay, selling a new board under 350.00 seems like a bargain, and under 300 is really low. How in the world could you possibly sell a board under 250.00?

possibly jus to cover costs, and get experience and get your name out there?
Well it probably costs only $100 to make it in China, plus shipping, so there you are.
a market tactic in this day and age is targeting,Nations who are manufacturing subsidise the export to corner a market share by driving down prices to below competitive levels while forcing the streamliing of production…then once the market share s big enough to be a recognizable factor then borrow money to explode mfg.exponentially and then turn the profit while raising prices to a more profitable margin…My friend wants to build free boards for the needy…cheap ?good greif charlie brown…ambrose…
shortboards… when i calculated everything out, the pure production cost came out to under 150 dollars. i sold my first custom board to a friend for 180 dollars. i still havent sold a board for anything over 300, but i’m happy as long as i have gas money…
next project: longboards.
ya it only costs a 100$ for all the materials.

a waterski shop down the street is selling a brand called “AMERICAN SURFBOARDS” (made overseas of course) I was visiting an old friend on the coast yesterday who has had a board factory for probably 20 years, he was telling me of the laws about imports; ie. label size vs. country of origion size. this example of “american surfboards” is in violation of U.S. law where as ron jons in cocoa beach (made in china) is not. I wonder what stage of negotiotiations “Stewarts” is in of taking all their brands overseas?
Bashams.
custom 7’-4" R $47.oo
glassing + fin system $160.
total $207.00
If figured if I did the glassing it would be about $145 total. for me it’s worth it to pay the pros to glass my boards.
I have sold my used boards from $200. to over $300.
I usually make two or three, then sell 2 to feed my shaping habbit and still come out ahead
Resinhead----------You gotta be kiddin’ me! Mitch will sell you a set(3) of FCS for $10? As for some of the other comments. The more boards you can turn out at one time ,the lower the costs. No matter who you buy from, if you buy 10 blanks instead of one, you better be gettin’ a better deal. McDing
…it´s the same brands of materials , but in differents world locations vary the prices…
i think the low prices boards are placed in S america (Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Peru, i havent´got other countries info…) and indonesia… a brand new for less than Us$ 250 (6 6 or under)…
¡Clark or Bennet blanks, lesser and cheaper with other brands…
¡Hexcel or Aerialite , ´ ´´ ´´ ´´ ´´
¡similar FCS fins or glass ons
´cause most are smaller factories, there are 1 or 2 craftmen for all…
