I know you can’t polish a turd, but I’d be interested to see what you make from it. Maybe you should rename the post “chips fin challenge”, invite members of sways send you there scraps and junk and you have to make something work out of it, prize for the worst offering. (mine might stand a chance that way) "
so…
… anyone up for it ? [maybe i can then send it back to the sender , or on to others , to use …]
Mmeanwhile …
here's what I have decided to do to the previously posted orange single foiled side fin ...make it into a double foiled cutaway BACK fin ....
ditto …
Josh ,
do either of these interest you ,
to try out as a back ‘stabiliser’ in your M.R. twinny ??
…It will make a change , having a set of clear four fins . Also , combined with the small clear ones [in one of the earlier photos here] for the twinzer option.
The board that the fins came from cost me 1 dollar at a garage sale, the nose was melted, and i didn’t know waht i’d do with the board. Now i alwalys look out for dinged boards, mainly for the fins!!
the blue 1970s glasson , cutdown and thinned a bit , for a box fit , eventually [shown next to the JB1 multifin]
the carbon fibre / foam twwinnies , further thinned , ready for glassing and fcs tabbing [at ‘some’ stasge !]
…the hemp keel and the resin swirl bonzer runner / mini keel …
‘swirls’…[inside edge] …
outside edges…
The three cutaways ‘thruster’ setup on the ‘prawn’ …[note: these are commercial cutaway windsurfer fins , made of lexan , that I scored at good ol’ council collection time a few years ago …]
Loving your work ben. Im inspired!!. Here’s a 3 x 2 trailing keel, cut up out of a thruster centre fin. The paint looks much better in real life than on the pic!.
Im hoping it will not “stiffen” up my fish as much as my other trailer, which is roughly 3’’ deep.
Curious about that last one, you think it will hold with one tab?
I just got a set of Twinnies +1 and the +1 has two tabs on it even though it is quite small. I was giving though to cutting a tab off and using one plug… Be sure to let us know how it goes.
