The Boston Whaler Menemsha…one of the ugliest boats in history. So ugly that they are cool!!! Is it yours???
<nbsp; This is a very good point. Maybe one of the best shaping Board design lessons you can learn. If the board still feels the same after sanding out then take a hard look at the fin placement. We never did get into rocker or rails. a least I did not see any post on those Wading in shit is not my favorite thing to do . Now as a suggestion I might start with the fins first. Then when you are satisfied that it is not due to fins or fin placment then move to sanding out the V I don’t recall do you have a fn box system ? The shit fight got too much and I did not read a whole lot.
I’m more ofa Mckee Craft man myself. He made some really ugly but very funtinal boats. Now back to the topic at hand.
Listen partner - with ur ears not ur @**! If you think I fell out of turnip truck - you fell on ur head skateboard n with da skatin bears! I wouldn’t be using those damn templates -not knowin how they work - that’s a waste of foam… I’d need to know more first.
You think you know a lot yet once again you demonstrate how little you know.
those whalers the fisherman LOVE around here. I think it might be the covered bow.
That one is not mine no. The only boat i own is a 16’ Starcraft i inherited when my grandpa passed. Way too many good times in that thing to sell it.
Current savings list in order of importance
College, Laser or Moth sailboat, tools and surfcraft materials, car, food.
Needless to say i dont eat much, or shape much, or drive.
Angus-
thanks for the input and advice guys
i set it up as a quad and it works great!
Hope this is useful, but I shaped a Bonzer3 type thing a while back that had a lot of Vee exiting the tail. I found it bled off speed when I bottom turned.
i bogged it out with Q-cell, and it changed the ride drastically. Sounds like you got your board going, but it’s an option in future if you thing you might’ve fucked it up!
Cheers!
A ‘’ V ‘’ in the tail, creates drag, and settles the tail deeper in the water. What do you suppose made the redwood Hot Curl boards work as well as they did? This perspective gained in discussions, about surfboard design, with Buzzy Trent. Buzzy was there, while all those early design paths were being taken. Ever wonder why naval architects put ‘‘V’’ in a boat hull? Think about it.
