FRICKEN WHOA! Thanks Tom! http://216.15.61.234/swaylocks/boards/db.cgi?db=default&uid=default&Validated=Yes&Category=hybrid&view_records=1&nh=5&mh=1
FRICKEN WHOA!>>> Thanks Tom!!! YEAH BUDDY! Man would I like to test ride that board! Tom, you gotta let us know how it works. I’m thinkin its gonna RIP!
That thing is puuuuuuuurty! Nice job.
Nice job Tom. It looks like a ripper!
Nice job Tom. It looks like a ripper! Great looking board. Enjoy it.
Rob: Thanks for the comments. The twins are FCS glasss twins, the larger of the two templates that they offer. 5.5" depth I believe. Tom>>> First: Beautiful>>> Second: What size are the main two fins?
Tom…I am thinking about making a fish for small junky east coast surf conditions. I was looking at your “fresh fish” board on this site and liked the outline, length etc. Question: how do you think the added length of your new board will change the ride compared to your shorther fish? How does the rocker differ?
Tommy…nice job, brah!..and herb…all pretty with da smokin red supachagahs, eh?! I was actually one of the first guys to get your “contest” answers right, way back when. I tried to get in contact for my “freebie” at the address you had posted, but all I got was some dude in Holland!!! Go figure! Tom V. (Good synergy, boys!).
Tuna: The 6’8" was not for me, it was shaped for a much larger person. The owner (200 lbs./6’7") was impressed with the floatation and maneuverablity it offered him. I still ride my 6’2" “fresh fish” shaped from a 6’2"C. I have just finshed another for myself and will post details as it is complete. In short the newer version is 6’2" but the entire template is pulled in somewhat. Thanks to Tim Campbell who posts here on Swaylock’s. He shared the specs of a Fryed Fish he owns. Depending on your physical size and average surf conditions you might consider some form of these split tail, retro type fish designs. They work well for me in beachbreak conditions up to head high or a bit larger surf. Herb Spitzer has a lot of good input on these designs and I’ve got to credit him for all of the tips he has passed down to me. The superchargers are new to me but I’m going to put plugs in for them as I build more of these shapes and hope to post some feedback as I get some experience over time with them. TS TS.
Tom Thankyou,you are a true craftsman,Herb.
From what I saw it’s not even a Fish! Again 6’8" is to long for a fish …Why …Tom look at the rails their too stright! And the nose is wrong that’s not a fish nose! Thats a summer swallow with twin fins! the rockers wrong due to you using the wrong blank …Iam not going to tell you what one to buy either why should I …I know more about this than all of you go look at my David Nuuhiwa Dynos Bet your boards don’t even ride like those do they Tom! Sorry but if I surfed with you I;'ll show you name the place on a Sun. And you’ll see the real shit and quit call those things fish surfboards! If you wonder why I come off like I do it’s cuz nobody rides a fish! and nobody has a fish but you all say you do! My 6.1 Quad is more of a fish , my 6.4 " is more of a fish but the real deal is my 5.10 1/2" Dyno David Nuuhiwa and 5.10" Dyno these are fish surfboards! not 6.8" That’s joke Tom look at your rocker better understand that a fish skates and you fins are wrong too! go look at the pitures of the red dyno 12layers of glass! you got thruster fins! Liuke I said name the place anyone of you and I’ll bring a few real fish boards are blow your minds with the way they ride and I’ll let you ride them and take templetes if you like! Supercharged Hype! Make a real fish and you can throw those gimmicks out the window! Or can’t anyone make the real deal anymore! Everywhere I go I blow minds not that I try It’s just that you all have been conditioned from the surf industry to a point of not even having the right blanks or glass or fins or weight! You all forgot what a fish does! You’re all too old to paddle or ride one…not me at 41 and 185lb. I can keep up with anyone daily!
Read the fine print Ray. The guy who rides the 6’8" is 46 years old, 6’7" and weighs 225 lbs. I’m 46, 5’8" and 155 I ride a 6’1". I’d have to agree with you that the DynoFish was a great board, I’ve owned and surfed 3 of them over the 34 years I’ve been surfing. I do think that any surfboard can be refined and improved for the conditions and surfing preferences of the individual rider. If you can’t agree to this point of view then I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. Thanks for the comments. TS>>> From what I saw it’s not even a Fish! Regardless of what you call it it’s a beautiful board Tom. Being 6’6" and 240lbs it’d probably ride awesome for me. Great work and keep progressing! -g30

Tom, what you generously describe as ‘comments’ seem to me to be more like an insensitive rant borne out of an exaggerated sense of self-importance. you are not only a fine craftsman, but a gentleman as well. best regards
Tom, If it is my brother,I apologize for his narrow-minded insults.Herb.
Herb: not a big deal. On the other hand, I understand he can play a decent set of Hendrix. I’d like to hear some of it…Dolly Dagger is one of my favorites. I pulled out my VHS copy of Rainbow Bridge a while back. What a hoot to revisit that. Hey that reminds me, I have a copy of that old Kinstle/McHale manual to get out to you. I’ll get it out tommorrow. Tom>>> Tom,>>> If it is my brother,I apologize for his narrow-minded insults.Herb.

Thats for the kind words but the fact is you can make a 6.0 fish for a 46 YO. 240lb surfer I.ve seen Les Proiner make several fat thick fishes in his day! Narrow mindness maybe herb but at least I can still ride my Fish surfboards can you! And were talkin 5.10"…Get the thrill back in your lifes and ride a surfboard that’s under 6.0" And I don’t care how you are or what you weigh! Nothing personal Tom but I try to stay true to a design and if it’s altered then I use a different word/name! Everywhere and everybody has jumped on the Fish band wagon…where was everyone a few years ago when I was published in Surfer Mag. about making a fish design for the 90’s…Now everyones got something!..And thats fine but when you see me screaming by you on my David Nuuhiwa Dyno Fish remenber I still ride mine and you don’t so I don’t want to hear about 34 year bullshit …it doesn’t me shit to me Iam there now! The Eagle Flys on Fridays…And you can’t catch me…none of you.
Tom,>>> If it is my brother,I apologize for his narrow-minded insults.Herb. Supercharged Hybrid indeed!..more like Super Hyped Call it what you want but don’t call it a fish herb! Doesn’t ride like one or look like one! So why is it one? Rocket Fish…bettty bettty…bettty…bettty piddi…piddi
