I did a concave deck on last years build, the first cork board on this thread… I liked the "locked in" feeling too so, I did it on the minigun and bonzer. I shaped the boards out slightly thicker than I would have normally but made sure my rails were where I wanted them then, when everything was done, I hogged out the deck. I don't know if that's how a pro would have done it but, it seemed right to me? As far as volume, I guess it is a tradeoff which is why I started out thicker than normal. I hope that makes sense?
wow, awesome work! And of course since I've been away for a while I wasn't up on the whole cork as a core material thing, so I had to find a thread on that and get up to speed… Very interesting stuff!
what's up Shwuz?!
long time no see!
I hope this thread has helped you out, your threads have helped me out a ton…
cork is super easy to work with! I really like the feel that it gives when added to the standard EPS / Epoxy build.
Oh, you definitely got my gears turning! I love the look of wood, but it's SOO fiddly to get it right, and then you have to compensate for the added stiffness. I'm assuming cork doesn't make it too stiff?
no, not stiff at all… it also takes out the "chatter" of EPS which was a pleasant surprise.
wow !
I really like the fins , too, mr. crispyman !
( thanks for directing me to this thread , as I miss photo build and quiver threads [occassionally] . Glad to find THIS one ! )
keep up the good work , mate !
cheers !
