Cheers Ben looks like you've been very busy, love the glow in the dark fins mate

hi woody !

good to hear you're still at Sways !

you may get something in the mail...what template[s] do you like , woodster ?

  cheers

  ben

Chipfin61 you have a cool way of doing little mini panels. Nice work!

thanks sir !

they can actually be a bit more work than laying up bigger panels , believe it or not ! [in terms of cutting out , foiling , finishing]...but they DO use up every available piece of cloth and resin , if nothing else , i guess !

  cheers

Nice work. Where DOES the luminous powder come from? Is expensive?

Ben, same question about the luminous powder, do you think its available over here in Qld ??

I wonder if I could glass a whole board in a luminous swirl ?

You’re reading my mind(short trip) Surffoils. A Night surf with this?!?!? Cowabunga!

Love the panels Chip.

I haven't forgotten about sending the kevlar, just need to finish off a few things first.

Rosco came and picked up the hemp fins you sent me to try out. I'm going to finish off the the fins from the kevlar panel you sent me, ride them then pass them on to rosco. (unless they go too well, then I'll have to keep them in my 5'10). ;)

Speak soon

tblank, a night surf and youre suddenly the brightest fishing lure in the sea.

But it could be cool , as a display board in a nightclub

or on a kids wall as he turns in for the night

or just to be a tool and drive around at night with a glowing board on the roof racks.

I found a co. called www.glowstop.com and you can buy photoluminescent powder from them.

In my part of the Pacific there’s little worry. There is more worry from someone else in the water. Thanks for the link.

hi tblank !

it costs , here, $18aus for 50grams

sold in a jar here in W.A. [that’s west australia]

hopefully a google search would reveal where in america it’s available ?

hope this helps

ben

Ben thanks for the info. I really am interested in this compound for lots of reasons. Thanks Heaps! What is the ratio powder to resin in a fin? Does it take much? Have you used any other color?

hi mate !

I use about ten percrent of powder to resin .

A 'big' panel [8x10"] uses about 400mls of resin , so 40 grams [almost a whole jar??] disappears in one thruster set , or two twinnies ??!!

they DID have bigger jars [?about 1kg??] for around $120aus , from memory , but I've not seen them since , unfortunately ,

because I DEFINATELY want to make some MORE 'GLO' fins !!

  meanwhile ...
