...monstrosities have landed on our beachfront ...
today was CRANKING top to bottom tubes
i got a chance to take out the Walden , with the half-moon fins on it [?? yikes…i thought today was going to be small, fat , and onshore…never trust a t.v. station’s weather forecast]
well, the ‘half-moons’ held in off the bottom well, but i was a bit sketched out to come off a pitching lip , so , in the words of rob machado in ‘nine lives’ …“the cowards returned with their tails between their legs” [in other words , i went in a straight line on most of my waves , looking like a 50 year old scared longboarder [nearly true hahahhh]
daz , however , pulled into two of the bombs [barrels] of the day , as usual…[i hope the guy from loadedbarrel.com was on hand to shoot them ?!]
…good on ya , " Big Daz " !!
cheers

Hey Chip, sad to see the building on your beach. There should be a 500 to 1000 meter buffer space from the beach on all coastlines. In so. cal. most folks living on the water don’t even use the beach much less get in the water. Also, have you been able to get that Walden to trim out at all?
cheers !!
yes, I agree !
in fact , I wish buildings [especially MONSTROSITIES] were banned ANYwhere near the beachfront
on a happier note , yep , I've used the walden for a mini-mal [trim stuff]...it nose rides okay , too ["cheater5" 's mostly , in my case !]
I'm thinking of getting rid of my mal altogether , and using the Walden instead , in our TINY [in big letters!] summer peelers, as I prefer doing turns , really [as well as trimming for speed , of course ...I can't totally disown my thirty plus years of single fin riding , I guess ?? ]
cheers for the questions ....feedback is always GOOD !!

[these were taken back in April this year]
"when the moon is in the southern sky,
and jupiter aligns with mars,
and peace will rule the pla-a-net
and love , love will guide the stars
...this is the dawning of the age of aquarius " etc
[photos for ...er... "MOONfish"]
Great shots Chip! Here on the US’ west coast our evenings and nights are often fogged out. There isn’t much that rivals moonlight on the water. Of course the last right sure looks appealing.
yes,
these were morning shots of course [i too am on a west coast , being WEST Australia !!]
we are fortunate in that being a small city , with lots of wind [not just mine] , we get lots of clear mornings and evenings , it's only when southerly or norwesterly storms blow in [eg: winter just gone] , that we get the clouds .
well, swell and all day offshore-wise it ain't Chicama , but the climate makes up for it , this time of year [Spring, now]
this morning was 4 degrees C, and glassy / offshore , and today will hit 21 degrees C [about 70-72 fahrenheit on the old dinosaur scale] .....nice !!
maybe i'll try for some water shots tomorrow , if it's like today [or a wee bit bigger , hopefully ?!]
cheers for the feedback 'Mr. t' !

the best seat in the house for surf checks / breaks between sessions ....
the strangest thing about this photo, which i never noticed when i took it , was a clubbie boat in the background , upended as if doing a wheelie ??
strange days , strange days INDEED !!
a freakish henri cartier-bresson moment ...
Rowan's fins ...
Rowan , testing the 'cobweb' fins....

" are you looking at ME ?!! "
nice set of pics Ben...
ha ha ha at the lowrider bike... i didn't know they did those down your way.
the spiderweb fins look sweet. did you make them?
the guy paid 800usa $ for it to be imported apprently
he's a little homey mate of my neighbours , my neighbour said he is getting "$2000" speakers on it to pimp it out . he's a 'dj' , apparently ...strange days indeed ...
rowans fins made by me ? nup ...
BUT....
.....IF if i can get some cobweb material , then , well ......
