First shot page 6 is your old stomping ground, the 1st Rock express!! Shot was taken from the pine trees, old mate had a big lens.
You can't see the board, but I'm riding the very first one I ever built - 6'4" XPS Stubbie Single Fin.
Not a great wave, nor am I doing anything besides just standing there (that’s mostly what I do), but the photographer was pretty good, (he somehow cropped out the other 150 surfers out that day at First Point, Malibu) and you can see clearly the home made hickory wood joint…
Here’s one about twenty five years earlier, down Abreojos way, doing the same old same old, same position, same size wave…I swear I have ridden bigger waves and occasionally do a turn, but I have no photographic evidence to prove it…
