Thanks guys … ill try it out!

Use a little red TINT…not pigment.

I guess we'll have to do some testing

You might shoot for more of a semi-opaque white with a dab of red.  Those deep transparent tints are tough. Every little scratch, foam defect and squeegee edge is likely to show.  I've seen it happen - even on boards glassed by the best of them.

Good advice.

thanks John I appreciate the advice.

UGH.i just want a PINK board … not airbrushed.

Howzit Bill. I think that is the better way to go since it will take only a little red to make the white pink where it would take a lot of white to turn the red into pinkI like painting the blank pink sinc you know exactly what the color will be but with the pigment you really don't know till you apply the resin to the board. I don’t know if you can get those pigments/tints. The brand I use is “West and Senior”. Do you want me to send you a can?

That’s a beautiful tint Balsa, thanks for sharing.

I found a tint at Foam EZ today so I am going to test it out on my new board.  If it doesn’t turn out how I want it to, I will take you up on it!

here’s the board

If you haven’t glassed your board already, before you do take a scrap piece of foam and a patch of the cloth your going to use. After you mix up your tint dip your finger in and wet out the piece of cloth on the piece of foam, it will give you a pretty true read of the color you’ll end up with. The color in the bucket is always darker than what you’ll get. Also the lighter the tint the less the imperfections will show compared to say a medium tint or also going the other direction a really dark tint. There are always exceptions but the medium color tints are the hardest to do.

So true. This board was ordered with a blue tint glass job. When I picked it up I asked John Mel why it wasn’t tinted as ordered. He said: “Well, the resin sure looked blue in the bucket”.

yes Good advice @ oahushaper, I will do that before I begin!

thank you!

Howzit Sammy, That is the unbluest blue tint job I have ever seen and people just have to realize that when it comes to tints you have to really put quite a lot to make it look right. That actually looks like a cool white color like when you add a couple of drops of blue to a gallon of white. Aloha,Kokua

I can tell you how to make a board Pepto Bismol pink.  But I wouldn’t recommend it.

try using purple tint, just don't mix so much in.

it always turns pink.

Ohhhhhhhh, So you're a girl surfer.

My whitie tighties are pink after I washed them with my red socks. How about that for pink visual?

58 year old guy sitting in the dark....over weight...typing on the computer, pink tighties.

I submit that you add white to red, either tint or opaque.  if you just do a light red tint (aka Pink) you are going to get wierd blotch spots.   Add just enough so you get a beautiful shade of pink.....Are you looking for Hot Pink?

Please say yes..........

Hey maybe this board is for Peter Townsend.
