plywood chambered board

Interesting point da5id but I was thinking that in this case you won't need a vent. So in that case I would leave a bunch of small air chambers which won't have enough volume to rupture the plywood.

Looks like each pair of chambers could be merged, and save additional weight, without compromising strength.   Give it a thought.

finally finished chambering the board, and glued it up today. i used a different method with the rails and i connected all the chambers with a small hole so i could put in a vent. I also put in a homemade leash plug wich im alittle nervous about glassing…i wish i had more pictures but i keep forgeting more coming soon though…my cousins are going to be helping me glass the board when its ready, if any one has any suggestions on types of resin to use, how to put in a vent, or anything else i might not know, im open to them. this is my first board so i dont know much about much…

heres the rail pieces before i cleaned them up

this is my leash plug idea. i clamped the two center pieces together and drilled a 1" hole

then i drilled two smaller holes into the sides of the 1" hole to fit a metal rod into, then when the peices are glued together it should be pretty solid, let me know what you think…good idea or bad idea

This is a great project.  what is the weight at the moment?

Yeah well done it's looking good

Man, your board’s looking great! I was very close to trying my hand at making a chambered board out of junk strips of poplar. i still have the wood laying around so let us all know how it turns out, i just might need to emulate you! and yeah…how’s the weight feeling?

awesome board - intregued to know how it works out weight wise - the ply is going to look immense under a coat of resin - keep at it!

any ride report so far?

sorry waiting to get stuff to glass the board hopefully it ell be getting done soon and ill have more pictures to show

How much does it weigh? before and/or after glasssing?

Nice work!
