post Hull pics

1400 replies, wow!

after busting the fin box out of my longboard i pulled this one from the back of the shed where it has been hiding unridden for a couple years. as soon as it went under my arm i noticed the similarities to my hulls. the rails, belly, foil- all really similar. i rode it with that in mind and while it didn’t have that flex fin drive, it did drop and climb greasy fine. and fast too. now i am obsessing about some kind of longboard hull.

ps thanks for the photo-bucket instruction- i used it!

Super bladed out 6’er, this is the one that was finished up the night before the malibu meet up for my buddy…i tried to get across how thinned out it is in the pics, hope it worked!

another reference to the california ranching/surf experience is in one california day in the malloy segment.there are many central cal ranchers/cowboys that surf. makes sense as many of their ranches are on the coast, with waves right in front of them and the herd(i'm talking about many other places besides the hollister/bixby deal). one famous pipe ripper from the 70's has a primo ranch in central cal, as do others....there are a lot of similarities in the lifestyle and immersion in nature and tuned into it...

Pics from Matt Miller…

“Some shots of VdLO folks out on the trail. My gal andy and i, on mules, welcoming folks to the ranch…Two shots of kp. One of graham and myself(cooking).”

That tecate can is not full , I hurt my hand and the Dr, said just hold a empty can and in a few days you will be fine.

looks good, ryan. i love the profile/foil shot. that’s the sexiest thing about hulls … the profile.

… and the VDO guys have a good thing going too. FYI – i tried to buy me some stickers and a cap … but the VDO website don’t accept credit cards unless they’re issued from US banks… :frowning:

Those are some nice clips. I think a few of those might be on the “Six Feet to Fit” too.

don’t think so, jim. i go into see those clips all the time ( six feet to feet) — these are different…

They are pretty good quality. Very rare too. I like the surfing on the “Mr. Davis” clip.

yeah i like that style too…

That Davis clip I’ve seen before yeah, it’s got nice moves in it for sure–the peach flextail one I liked the cutbacks a lot–I’d like to see the outline on that one–

the bigger wave footage you could really see by the wakes how much water was being displaced by the board.

footage from 6 feet and clips comes from same stock…a movie compiled of footage from the years into one, that never made it out of one guy’s garage. however, that may change in the future and be available to all(maybe…)

This footage comes from , Greg Liddle , Dave Lloyd, and Steve Krajewski. The film was called DOWN THE LINE shot from around 70 to 74.

Kirk,

Do you know who put the music to the Six Feet to Fit clips?

I have to say, it’s great to see cleaner footage than the six feet clips.

I notice that it appears GL and Dirt ride further forward than Mr. Davis, or Mr. Peach do.

Does the Dirt clip stop half way for you too? It looks like it only loads half the clip.

Yup, it’s got a bug I think. I was fine the first time I watched it (I think) but it had glitch at about 1/3 of the way through.

the whole clip loaded for me just fine - but it seems that the pause in the Dirt clip was to still frame the most extreme point of the cut back done manually on the VHS as it was being transfered to digital format - and what an extreme! anyway - i noticed it did take a long time to load - longer than other mgps or movs that are surfing n not flesh related

can’t wait for friday AM

Jim , I think it was Ken Mcnight, one of the guys who started Allaboutsurf.
