now that’s what i call a trifecta!!! bitchin’!
I owned that one once… A fun one at beachbreaks. A bit thicker, less foiled but would make an OK intro board for someone.
Weird fin config, it has 3 full size Fins Unlimited boxes, and the side biters were hand made.
yeah, it looked kind of funny with those little sidebites in those big long boxes.
anybody run a greenough 4a in their hull- i am looking at a 7’6 microant II and was thinking that maybe this 9 inch fin would assist going backside in beach break conditions? I am new to the hull thing and am looking for a user friendly option. any suggestions would help-thanks
Smoothie , Brian and I were workin yesterday and I asked him about your board , he thought that the micro ant II would be fine backside, kinda why he did it, so it would be user friendly backside. The GG fin would be cool to try .
Hey Kirk - Pretty nice looking turds (pinched) if you ask me. more like a pumpkin seed.
Nothing like a good movement…
Liddle hull. Not the current zen clear - can anyone see the attachment ?
i cant see the attachment
purchased last night 7’6 micro ant II- the board looks unreal- lots of foam hidden in the middle of the board, but knifey rails and foiled nose and tail ( width is 23", nose is about 18.5", 3" thick
Try posting your image to photobucket then posting the link inline. Your pic was so small it looked like it was for a cell phone.
Per KP: 6’3" Musgo
Jim,
Really sweet looking board. That template looks so good.
Do you know what “Musgo” stands for?
…kind of rust or moss
i think it’s slang for-it must go!( i could be wrong though…)
I thought it’s for Saint Javier Musgo, the patron saint of hull surfers. He was a padre on one of Cabrillo’s ships when they set anchor at Humaliwu to get water and trade with the Chumash. He noted the native’s prowess in the water on some unique watercraft that allowed them to “walk on water, like our savior”. These watercraft designs were passed down through oral tradition, and through visions that only the enlightened receive.
It was one of these visions that it is said influenced Simmons. Rumor has it Greenough also had one of these visions, in the form of a talking dolphin. Dolphins, were of course very important to the Chumash.
Later while he was stationed within the California Mission system, Musgo was opposed to the removal of the Chumash from their costal villages, which led to the Padre being sent back to Spain. He was made a saint in a backdoor deal at the time that Father Serra was also made a saint. (It is also rumored that Malibu’s own “poor wandering monk” helped to broker this deal).
That’s my theory…
I thought that’s what Steve H. named his yellow 6’3" and so it became a convenient name for the template but I could be mistaken. I should have asked him this morning.
i believe mcmalibu has it right…
…and if not, it’s the story i’m sticking to regardless…
thanks guys, I like the story too.
Like that saying, a rose would still be as sweet if was called by another name… or however it goes.
