Post your Hull pictures Second Thread

That was my first thought too. Nice pic but it does look more like a tail turn than a rail turn.

the reason KP was so “worried” is that stringerless was, i believe, greg’s last personal ones before he left… i think Kp has one more.

here’s a stringerless(glue line) i did a month or so ago for Dane Peterson. it’s 5’10" and 2 3/8" thin…

4oz s-cloth bottom with a 4oz warp/4oz s-cloth deck…

Well isn’t that a cool looking MOTE Michael Peterson looking Stub.

Matt,

Is that the same stringerless that was located in “the rack of the hallowed hulls” in KP’s secret garage of mystery?

If so, I thought that it was deemed a “sacred craft”, never to be placed into “the drink” again.

Is Chris Malloy a shaman who can render the mighty KP defenseless and take which ever hull he so desires from that sacred rack???

Where is KP these days?

I am no KP, but if Chris Malloy came looking for a board in my garage, I would probably oblige. Be fun to see what your board is supposed to be surfed like.

didn’t upload.

anyone wants it, just PM me yr email and i’ll send it.

Did’t Alex K, buckle that one originally?

Ah, you got one of the good ole Walker blanks…

yup, walker.

i don’t know about anyone else, but posting pics now seems more complicated than b4. i tried to post it twice, and it came back sayin that i was ‘not authorized to make remarks’… now checkin in, i see that both pics made it up. ?

fear not for there is a temporary glitch in the matrix.

your post was submitted even though it told you it failed and logged you out.

i am the middle man. chris wanted a board-a Liddle- to take on that particular trip. he really wanted something extereme. thus, i headed down to KP’s(had to pick up some boards for a shop in ventucky) and told him of CM’s request. well, we went through several boards-all would have been good to go- then he did the unthinkable. he pulled out that stringerless and in a joking kind of tone, said"this would be the bomb!" , kinda laughed (yeah right, this ain’t going anywhere!)and began placing it back in the racks. “whaddya mean?” i asked. we got into it about why it should be THE board to go and why it should be the one NOT to go.we agreed that what better way to give it a final journey before it was officially retired.naturally, we were hoping it would not buckle-since they tend to do that- but we figured if it did it was doing what it was made for-surfing long point waves.the fact it got splintered in what was described as an overhead, freight training sand gurgler is even better.I believe CM told me they got it on film. i have yet to see it, but if it is , eventually i will-maybe we all will.bottom line, it went out with all guns a blazing instead of collecting dust in some old garage…!

here’s the “Displaced” article by Devon Howard on p 125 of may 09 surfer mag, mentioned earlier. It was available on their site, via Zinio, so i figure there’s no probl with putting it up here. ( you can check three pages for free, before you have to buy) However i’ll delete it if anyone thinks it could cause probls.

The article really doesn’t say anything we have all seen, heard, or read before. The Chris M bottom turn pic is nice tho

Matt,

Thanks for the eloquent response to my question.

What a fitting end for any hull. An overhead, freight training, sand gurgler is better than anything.

I hope that I can go out the same way.

Hot knife through butter baby!

Happy Easter!

May all of your waves be hot, glassy, tubular, and uncrowded.
