love that green and yellow
Love that tail shape, looks like a pain in the ass to do though.
yeah bit of a pain to glass! but thats the most detail i have got out of a tint, pics dont do it justice. though the next in a few days will be better!
gotta say the tips from Darth have been on the money!!
5’5’’ stringerless twin
5’6’’ double bump quad
both eps/epoxy with hand foiled glass on fins and my random attempts to make colors coordinate
some doodling and drips
Great cutlap, Easternpacific! Do you patch the tailblock after?
feel silly posting my first tint over here, with the best ever work being showcased… but hey everybody has to start somehwere.
No spackle available in Europe, and did not want to add weight to the board with a slurry of epoxy and micro spheres. Any suggestions?

“No spackle available in Europe”?
It’s available in France for sure and I would be quite astonished if it weren’t elsewhere…
its just under a different name i use ready patch light comes pre mixed in a pot
Austin & Troy’s work just keeps blowing me away… its all resin. Digging around their site will find numerous examples of the tape-offs that this kind of art requires…
These guys are awesome. And you can tell they’re just loving it. The web in the fin on the spider board is scroll cut wood. They do tail blocks I haven’t seen anywhere else.
Yeah Austin and Troy are killin’ it. I hadn’t seen that P51 board before. Just think, they’re still pretty new to the game too.
P40
P40
Not the aviation expert, but I believe it’s a P-51 Mustang.
The absolute badass in its class!
edit: I stand corrected, looks like a P-40 Warhawk!
Yup, my mistake, it’s a P40.
Everyone is a little correct. I was sent two different pictures from the owner. One was a P-51 and one was a P-40. Artist perogative I combined what I liked about both planes. The star and stripes from the P-51 an the mouth from the P-40. Its a P-45 1/2. I will try and post construction pics when I get my laptop back online.
Troy
the black and white invasion stripes would be unlikely on a P-40, since I don’t believe any of them were used in the front line in the european theatre on/about D-Day… however, there may have been a striped P-51 with the nose art teeth, so the combo is possible! Nice work in any event!!!
PS How about machine gun ports on the next one?
