The bottom is all that green color and with a cutlap. I Dont think I have any bottom pics right now.
Its a big boy but Im a large guy too.
It rode awesome. I’ve taken in out 5 or 6 times now and its been super fun, it was all like waist / chest high peelers. Easy to catch waves, and no so bad with the turning at all.
Its just a single fin. right now I have a smaller fin in there but Soon, perhaps today ill order something bigger for it. The other fin cam off an old Becker longboard.
Thanks Chippy, mixed up 14 oz red pigment than a cup of 8 oz black and a cup oz 8 oz yellow. i wish i added more yellow only one or two spots got the yellow in the swirls. but this is how one learns to improve. and i should have done 18 oz red 14 oz yellow 8 oz black probably to prevent as much mudding. ill post picks after i finish. thanks again for everyone on sways to help inspire.
I know you asked me to shoot some pics of the fins I got from you but I let one set go with the Eggzackly board and I forgot to get pics of them,, sorry mate.
I still have a set of pinkish purple ones but they are a bit off in thickness, cant use them as a pair but maybe for something later.
Howzit ken, You know the spot is there because you built the board an only anothr builder would maybe see it. When it comes to little flaws like that I just use some used 600 to take care of it. If you told me there were no flaws I probably wouldn't look that hard and would probably miss the flaw depending on where it is on the board. Aloha,Kokua
Nice work, Ken. And, well, you know what they say about blue boards being faster, don’t you?
On another note, I glassed this monster 10’7" x 30 1/2" x 4 1/2" SUP today. Scary, but it turned out OK. Except for the swirls that were supposed to show A LOT more (actually a little bit more visible near the tail, but still…)
masked out the top and went for it blanketwise on the bottom deck - really pleased with this:
then, in a burst of enthusiasm, flipped the board over, whacked the logos on and then did a bit more colour - looks a little wierd with the logos mixed up with the blanket but then, a mother always loves their ugly child the most!! had a bit of a fight with the 2oz cloth and had to rip this off halfway through but by that point there was no going back
the wood grain shows through pretty well but it looks a bit like a murder scene in places, so there you go.
I agree. Im a fan of the green and yellow mixes. And that board shape is killer… one of a kind. Now i need to figure out pin lines and a way to fake cut laps since i have nothing to lap. But the way the laps frame the swirls is so awesome
Swirl looks great brother! Sorry I forgot to call you to let you know I was doing this swirl, it’s been a few weeks since you stopped in and I just got around to it.
Stop over anytime and bring your snowboards so I can check them out.
E howzit Chips, that stoked little 7 year old is actually my grandson and heʻs an up and coming shredmiester like his mom,dad and gramps; " Just an old family tradition"; mahalo for the kind comments on the resin tint; Iʻm just a full amateur [unlike so many Sway pros masking as home builders, just kidding] and board building is a hobby that Iʻm trying to get better at; Sways is a great place to exchange ideas, show off product and get into heated debate[ they canned the one about SUP bashing; that was fun!; we should start another round]…a confessed Sways addict!
