there is a pipe , in sydney , a 30 minute bus ride from where I used to live …
if I ever visit , I would LOVE to see if it’s still in use , for skating …

I was watching the 'dogtown z-boys ’ dvd again last night , and in some of the photos , shogo kubo is riding an identical looking ‘kryptonics’ board , ripping in pools ! [it may be in that book , too ? [ …the Glen E. Friedmann photos one that you have …]

[ taken in 2011 , across the road from my old block of flats in scarborough , west oz ] …do they call these 'nose wheelies ', "manuals ", nowadays , maybe ?? [photo by my brother , Simon…cheers , mate !] …
riding a 1980s board … mosman skatebowl , west oz , c. ? 1995ish ?
that board [ pictured in the bowl above , and below , on my lawn in scarborough [ the west oz one] … was an old santa cruz board , absolutely carnaged , when I bought it from a mate who had stopped skating [ around ? maybe 1990 ? , from memory ? ]
I sanded it all down , put new grip deck on it , bought new bearings for the wheels , made a ‘skid plate’[tail block] from a chopping board , and voila …skated it till 2013 , when I sold it at a market [along with three of my 12 surfboards ] , prior to moving 2000 plus MILES east , last year …
I got my first skatey , a 'surfer sam ', around 1971 , when at age ten , I started skating [having roller skated for a few year , before that !].
I started surfing the same year , courtesy of a Clarke board , that my then 14 year old brother Simon gave me . It was originally a twinfin , and had been converted to a single fin . ( Not by me , I may add… my tinkering began at 16 years old , when I lived )close to a timber yard and befriended the skater who worked there ! :) )
