surfing with ladies....

I LOVE it !!

just came back from a fun surf on my 7’ single fin . Just me and a couple of “nice ladies” out there.

Some clean waves , good laughs , and a general “lightness” in the lineup . A refreshing change…

fun fun FUN !

ben

Jeez, Chip. And you didn’t post any pictures!

I hope it happens more often for you Ben…

yup whiteplains and waikiki here for punani patrolling. running joke

Amazing what damage blue crush did to the lineup…

now if they only would just get out of the way and not drop in all the time

or keep tugging here and there making those not so obvious tucking in adjustments…

I still love the gals in the surfshorts and sunguard tops who absolutely shred the place apart… And look just as good on the beach showering when they are done.

they got it under control…

It’s always a pleasure to share the lineup with the gals who really want to surf instead of just playing blue crush hollywood wannabes…

Will someone donate Chipster a bl00dy digital camera!!!

Let’s all “Chip” in…

Closeups count !

Before my wife got pregnant we surfed together almost every session. She even surfed until she was in her 6th month. The photos of that are pretty funny, but I don’t have any on this computer. Here she is prior to the pregnancy. And she doesn’t just sit around looking pretty. She charges!

i get so happy when girls are in the water. i always make it a point to say hi and trade waveswith them, because there is no ego, no aggressiveness, they are just there to have fun, and thats how i surf. sometimes we even trade boards for a few waves. if i could choose id never surf with a guy again.

Shane Gould [1970s aussie olympic swim star ], told me a funny story how her and her husband were in a tube together down margaret river way a few weeks before she gave birth . Not surprisingly , that son , Tom Innes , is a big wave charger …he got a cover shot of “Tracks” magazine last year , doing the Mike Ho and Bruce Irons thing of pulling into Waimea shorebreak on his backhand .

Shane , his mum , as far as I know STILL surfs.

I’ve always heard that pregos shouldn’t surf, now I hear all these stories. Is there a doctor in the house who could explain why it isn’t ok or why it would be ok?

I’m not a Dr, but we consulted a couple of them before she decided it would be okay. They say you can do it as long as you’re comfortable, or until the 6th month. The biggest concern is getting struck in the stomach by a board or something. Toward the end, my wife only surfed on small days at a mellow longboard break.

Interestingly enough, the only time she made it through entire sessions without getting snaked or dropped in on was when she was pregnant. I guess guys finally decided to give her a break.

I guess it’s the same as any other thing with the medical profession…the opinions run the gamut. Everyone I’ve ever talked to about this has been told by their doctors that surfing is a big no-no because of getting hit by the board, jumping around alot, laying on the stomach, engaging the abs too much, etc.

Docs out on the West Coast (I’m on the East) may also just have a different approach. In most cases, things have a way of working themselves out and your body will often tell you what you should or shouldn’t be doing. Also, there are so many inherent risks out there in your day to day life that surfing probably represents a very small risk (statistically speaking). Driving a car is probably much more of a risk, for example.

My wife reads your posts and laughs all the time. It’s something about always being a ½ day ahead of us, or something like that.

She’s always further up the line, complaining of all the old guy kooks dropping in on their surftechs. Funny how ironic it can be sometimes.

Keep an eye out for my board .

this editing facility is good , n’est-ce pas ? [here we go …]

…glad I make your wife laugh , E-Pac !

“Mmmmm” and I were pissing ourselves [laughing rather a lot] today , while we were crapping on [talking sh**] waiting for waves

…you wouldn’t want to have been there , probably …the stuff “private messages” [VERY private !!] are made of ! … She is one FUNNY lady [sense of humour being one of the main attributes I admire in a woman , as well as them getting out amongst it , giving surfing a go .]

brian kennelly’s sister told the story of riding her mat the day she went into labor…now there’s a pregnant surf vehicle for ya ?

…ambrose…

break your water bag go in give birth and then go back out…

surf goddess

It makes me laugh, if you haven’t seen the young lass out in the line up,

when the pure sea air gets overwhelmed by either a deoderant/perfume/

shampoo/hair product, it hits you in the face and you turn around wildly

thinking what is that? Then there she is, invariably toned, tanned and

generally with small wedgey.

Hang on a sec …did I read that right ?

…what ?

SHE has “a small wedgey” ??

Paddle away from that one , Steve … it ain’t no woman , buddy !

Alright so am I looking like goose here and once again didn’t know it.

define your meaning of “Wedgey” for me. (No need for too much detail).

My meaning was that her bikini bottoms were wedgeing higher up into an

interesting area that had an obvious fondness for Lycra, and at the sign

time revealing some more of the “less” tanned area.

I’m glad I didn’t say she had a “hairy Fanny”…am I speaking Chinese?
