that’s the spirit Josh !
any chance of a third [rocker profile ] shot of each board , please …to check rocker [strike]
[/strike]
well, these two are the last of the shots Simon kindly sent me on this cd … (I hope you have enjoyed seeing “some” of his , and his son Eli’s quiver !)
So,
would anyone ELSE like to send shots of the boards in your quiver…deck , bottom and side on [profile] shots ?
… it would be great to have a “Swaylocks Surfboard Design Photo Album” [thread] … [an] ongoing thread[s] ?
cheers !

" 6’2 x 20 Neal Purchase [Snr.]Burford. One of my favourites. Smashed when I bought it for $70. Multiple repairs later- it goes great when the waves are small- catches anything. Low performance , but high performance. Real good board for up the north coast. The deck grip is where my back foot is ! The centre fin is a 7.75" fcs and feels really good . "
is that light green pin a jeff ho zephyr?
cheers for the pics
tom
great quiver…brought back great memories…the designs…the stings… really made double flyer and triple flyers popular…bonzers…i rode one of Duncan Campbells…in big back door…it was 10ft and the board was 5’11…the board held in tight on all turns…yeah good times…
glad you enjoyed it Cheyne !
I’d heard you had ridden bonzers … did you ride the original three finned ones , too ? If so , how did you like them ?
…Simon took some shots of you for Tracks , when he was the photog there in the '70s …next time I talk to him , I’ll see if he can dig them out for me ?
cheers !

it’s actaully a mystery board shaped by john brown, called a sea dart. from around 1973 it does remind me of the zephyer boards though, planshape and art work wise. hand drawn decal. thanks for your interest.
I’d be keen on seeing a shot of that fin.
Cheers.
and , how
deep
what base length
and
rake would this be , please Josh ?
cheers mate !

having seen the recent 5’5 of Simon’s that he stood on at L.A., and the bunker spreckels tiny boards , I wonder if it’s possible to standup surf your spoon eh ? …are you game to try , and let me know how you go mate ? [I seem to remember …is it only 4’11 or something similar , though ? [worth a try anyway, perhaps…]
chipfish61 I really like the pictures of your brothers boards but, I also like the walls in the back ground. What are they made of? I have something similar to it in my front room that is tongue and groove Merritt Island, Florida heart pine that was milled in the late 40’s. I will send post some pictures along with a couple of my “single fins” sometime today. art

yes, surfing a 4’11" board would be fine if it was foam. you COULD surf stand up on the spoon, i’ve done a little stand in whitewater on it but there not meant for standing on, you’d be better off riding something like ted’s stubby.
have you seen rasta on his 4’11" shortboard?
I spy an Island and an MC there Chip, at home amongst the rabble rousers. Your clan reaches far and wide.
is that “MC” as in Maurice ? ( I’d HEARD he was back in Vicco !)
…yep, that’s a nice channel bottom eh on the Island .
I have no idea who the two people are on the left …looks like they don’t know what to make of Simon and Eli [not surprising , really !]

now , from Simon’s Hawaii trip with Ted Grambeau last December … here’s a random ‘girl with a board’ shot …
[‘blue crush’ , eat your heart out !]
Marry th Girl
help her become a woman
and in turn ,
change the kid into the Man
…ambrose…
compliments to mum
for a fine job.
No, the MC is Michael Cundith, I worked with him in Byron for a time.
And Ted, well, he never seems too short of a random girl here and there. Good luck to him.
