In the instance I am talking about, the shaper in question has NEVER posted his boards up and attempted to sell them. Anywhere. He doesn’t post online. At all. So I just can’t see it your way. You attack a man’s business/means of making his living with falsities, all bets are off. You pretty much give up your high ground when it comes to crying/whining about fair play. Lying about someone’s work with intent to damage, as Roy has done repeatedly, will get you sued in most businesses. It’s called libel/slander. Surfing is a bit different. There’s no money to pay for lawyers so people like Roy get away with it.
As for Roy being banned, he’s posting on this thread as Pinkpanther. So apparently not.
Hey…everything you just said is fair game. Roy brings it and should be able to take it when it dished out. However…some of you guys just keep answering and banging the same old drum…just like you claim he does. You obviously like it. So why complain about Roy? You wouldn’t be able to bash him if he was not posting.
My only gripe in a major way was Lokbox’s comment: Aye carumba who’s raising those hellions? Says alot about what his priorities are. Wait a second…they live in a bus. That says even more. I rest my case lol.

i didn’t attack anybody, just asked a question. i applaud the workmanship and effort, but the video speaks the truth. two things-perhaps a bigger wave will get it going and/or, use a fin with less area. i do want to see how it works in some good sized surf…

I don’t ride boards like Roy’s. I wouldn’t mind giving it a try out of curiosity. It’s my understanding that it’s not about performance, but straight down the line speed? I think the challenge was that the board couldn’t handle pipe…not that it was the ideal board for pipe…but I forget.

Jimmy, reminds me of dear Old Dale Velzy’s “Star War” short boards, he took the boards and Sean Mattison to San’o for sea trials.
Sean Paddled out on the different boards and gave them his absolute best try, when he came in and told Dale that they did not ride very well, Dale blew up in his face.
He told Sean he was riding them all wrong, Sean replied to Dale “tell me how you want me to ride them”.
Dale further blew his top and started swearing at Sean and said he was just a butt wiggler.
Now Sean is a dyed in the wool, for real christian, no swearing back, just told Dale to come down to Surf Ride and get his boards out of the racks.
Now that’s the way to shoot yourself in the foot !!!

Howzit silly, I have read the whole thread and can't figure out why people are so excited about a board that is an oddity at best. To really see how the board works it should be ridden at big Hanalei which is a speed wave. Used to have a guy who rode a 13 footer at Hanalei and the only thing it did was catch waves earlier, but after that nothing. Now watching the Irons brothers and Reef riding 7'8's on a 12-15 ft day at the Bay is an awesome thing.For some reason Jim's feathers have been flustered and he's fighting back. Lots of builders promote their boards or products here so it's not an uncommon thing.
