the fastest 3 to 4 foot point break surfboard on the planet

I like that shape as a board for doing turns and I bet its fast but what I want is more straight railed and flatter rocker specific for going out of control fast weaving top to bottom creating so much lift and drive and speed that I barely have any rail penetration just like skimming a stone. So fast that if I put my hand in the water it will rip my fingernails out.

Make it like this man does

You said fast.  I think flat.  The shortest distance between 2 lines is a ??? Keep it simple for pumping speen runs down your point.  Butt crack 6 to 6.5 inches deep. Use your new Gephart keels from True Ames for the inside curve of the crack.  6 ounce bottom. 6-4 on the deck for a little weight when you get all that inertia going in the right direction. Pin the ears back so they don’t flap, too. Mike

Thanks for the gephart fin idea and the fish direction has a lot of merit do you think the back of the board should be v or flat ?

8’0" single fin speed needle gun. 18.5"wide…13"nose…12" pin tail. Low rocker. Little bit of roll in the nose going to flat bottom. Down rails but no sharp edges. . Fin needs to be a glass on greenough type around 8" and set back on the tail. Make tip of fin even with end of tail.  lastly make it red…we all know that red boards are faster. Has to be red opaque…no cheating with kook ass foam sprays.

Last but not least find old vids of Barry Kanaipuni riding hight and tight. That Dude is fast.

13’ balsa glider…post pictures here as you build it

Do you think air craft? I still want contact with the wave.

The point break is very fast and outrunning it would be fun !

WOW! Sounds like a FUN wave!

I love racing walls and sometimes blow good sections just because I wanna race =)

Sounds like you’ve got a dream wave on your hands

I was thinking proper fish too although I’ve never ridden one. Mike makes some really nice ones and the Gepharts are beautiful…

Does your point really peel that fast? Are you going to outrun it?

15 1/2 stone

Fish.  16x22x16. Wide point 3 inches in front of center.  12 inches between tips.  3 inches thick  under your chest  because I think you way about 220?  Gephart double keel fins.  No toe in. No cant. Flat bottom. No cord. Nose rocker 3.5.  Tail rocker 1.5.  Just the basic deal.  I think I’ll make myself another just like it even though I"m a lot lighter. Just getting old. Mike

My youngest son (6’, 225#) has been terrorizing Swamis on an 8’4" Simmons-style board for the last few months.  Super fast down the line, but once you commit there is no pulling back.

a liddle will go a long way -and fast! it' what they are made for...

Sorry if I don’t respond for the next four days but im off to the Australian wilderness on a short surfing expedition  to a mystery slabing 500 meter left. Happy days!

" cojo fast?"

my two best friends and I emerged into the sun from a thick fog that had shrouded the coast from the time we launched off the pier until we got within a quarter mile of Cojo…and there it was, spinning slightly overhead flawless warp speed doughnuts from way around the outside corner all the way through the cove, not another boat in sight, or car on the bluff…just the three of us for an hour after hour magic session I’ll never forget, riding the fastest most perfect California wave I have ever surfed, on a board that reached speeds I couldn’t believe…

Its not what board works best for “fastest 3’ to 4’ point breaks”…it’s what board can you surf fastest, based on the way you surf, in the fastest waves you’re going to surf…

In those waves, some will go like hell on a hull, reach warp 4 on their quad, blaze on their bonzer, redline whatever rocket they know how to ignite…

that day it was on a well foiled, racy 6’6 Steve Colletta tri-hull rounded squash tail thruster …

today, twenty five years later, I’d be on a relaxed rocker, single to double concave, rounded squash tail thruster with the fin set pushed up a bit…being the shape I know how to surf the fastest…

this??

6’4" x 22" x 3"
