This is what's wrong with this site

I am reading intelligent debate by grown men and you come riding down on your skateboard, saying that’s all folks, F@@k you , is this thing so private or prissy that you can’t handle a bit of biff, what’s the problem, some fuck wit Aussie, some sheep f33ker, some useless sepo or any other c44t gets their nose out of joint, oh pleese, the’res people getting killed, the worlds scorcing, the’res big floods in north queensland, they wont let my Mum have a kitten, cause she’s 83, she’s had to go back to the central coast to get her licence, this is life, what are you gonna achieve by banning everything, f12k it, I wonder if Roy knows how to start up a fun site, get a f12ken grip who are you worrying about offending, with peace and love H.

Fueled by alcohol…The best way to go out in flames!!!

no name ,no place you’re a bit lost, mate

I can read at the top of this site: “Swaylock’s - SURFBOARD DESIGN FORUM”, i don’t think this is the proper place where to talk and discuss about politics.

The title of your thread says “this is what’s wrong with this site”, well, my personal opinion is that “what’s wrong”, if there’s anything, is that some people wants to make a social club from this site, while i like it much better as a surfboard design and construction forum…

Enjoy Swaylock’s.

HARRY AT PIPEMASTERS 81 he might just be able to shape a good board as well

is that talkin surf

With all due respect Coque, when it comes to surfboard design, or surfing in general for that matter there are alot of topics that people like to riff on and discuss.

But I can say this : if Japan starts wiping out humpback whales that is gunna have a much greater effect on my surfing experience than whether FCS introduces a new plug or whether my next board is a quad or a thruster.

Obviously other people on this forum feel equally passionately about it.

The discussion was progressing, things were being learned.

It’s pretty godamm small to shut a debate down because you find it a bit uncomfortable.

That’s something the Taliban and other totalitarian regimes do.

The people that I consider “soul” surfers aren’t the ones riding retro pintails and sporting beavertail wetsuits; they’re the ones who actually give a shit about our oceans and who have the courage to stand up and say something.

If Swaylocks is to be the repository for any kind of soul in this hper-commercialised world then this kind of debate has to be allowed to happen.

Otherwise it risks becoming just a place where a bunch of irrelevant idiots wank each other off.

If people don’t wish to read those threads that they don’t like then they don’t have to. It’s that simple.

Anyway, swells up I’m going surfing.

Steve

I have to agree with Harris. I was actually learning a few things from the debate. I don’t understand what the problem is. Grown up people can’t disagree? I guess I found the thread a bit more interesting than the latest compsand or finbox thread. It was actually fairly civil considering the emotional topics under discussion. Mike

HARRY AT PADANG I DONT THINK HES DRUNK EITHER

Yo - we’ve asked Mike Paler before if he wants to have a forum for political/non surfing threads. Apparently not.

If you guys disagree, tell Mike. It’s his forum, we are just trying to abide by his rules.

Peace.

god dam its harry again and look no bias here

yeah well when i was growing up surfing whales and dolphins were a big part of our culture

surfers have always have had a strong stance against whaling

and development and polution

and its always been at the forefront of our conversations

true surfers have been and always will be free subversive individuals

the rest are just clones buying into our lifestyle with all looks

but no bloody substance

if you want to kill that thread then show the balls to lock all the fin system advertising threads

threads on development and beach access on the east coast of america

resin sellers threads

and east coast social meetings threads

who died threads

etc etc

etc

whats good for the goose is good for the gander

To put it bluntly Silly, I saw your wife being verbally attacked…

I didn’t like that, and would do it again if a family member of one of our members was put in the same situation…

Wouldn’t you ???

At least I didn’t do it anonomously…

lennox76, I agree with you, but with all respect a design forum won’t help. Putting words and MONEY where it counts helps in the right forum, trust me it helps. Thanks Mike, that’s all I got to say. Mahalo,Larry

jez larry you telling me

yos had the winged keel siting there and 6yrs later beny comes over &trumps ya

huie

3 words for ya: Sea Shepherd Society.

Terrorists, maybe, but my kinda terrorists. Put yer moneys where yer mouths is, mateys. These pirates got it goin’ on.

OK - so my contributions put me on a watch list from my own GD government… but its worth it. And when I was a little younger, some G-man flacky took a photo of me with Darryl Cherney in Flagstaff… f those pricks if they can’t brainwash all of us into Elephantile submission. But the Sea Shepherds are the real deal… and worth our support. 'nuff said.
