Greetings everyone,
Doing research on the twinzer set up measurements for the canards.
Looking for distance from rail, distance main twin fin, toe in and cant.
Many thanks

I am also making my first Twinzer build right now. I used the Terry Senate fin marker. I put my rear dots for all four fins at 1.25” from the rail. I added a 3/16” toe for all fins. My rear fins have a 5 degree cant, and the front fins are at 12 degrees. My epoxy hot coat is still wet, so I’ll take the measurements later.
Thank you!
Thats super helpful
Beautiful work mate!
Excellent woodworking skills.
I have been building twins for 5 years now.
8” from tail feels right. As the board frowns in length you need to push fins forward.
Distance from rail I experimented with 1.25” 1.375” and 1.75”. The farther from the rail the more control on the pivot.
I measure my toe base on the orientation in relation to the nose. I measure it with the rocker straight edge.
Cant between 5-6.5 is the sweet spot. 3 is too stiff for me.
Looks great Swied. I have used the Senate fin marker and had a quick tutorial from its inventor(Pete Casica). Been so long since I have used it though, I need to refresh myself on its use. Wish somebody would do a tutorial on YouTube. I always fall back on my Pleskuna shapers square.
Thank you for posting great pics and thanks for measurements
Yeah… I hope the measurements that I posted above work out. I haven’t ridden it yet. Next step is to sand the hot coat, and then spray it with a glossy finish. I’ll let you know how it rides — soon, hopefully.
I checked my toe angle on my rear fins with a long straight edge. The lines intersect about six to eight inches beyond the front of the nose. The board is 6’2” long.
Yes that long straight edge is the sure fire way to make sure you are right. Like a glasser with lots of experience told me; ‘ If that line intersects before or right at the tip, your board will be a dog.’
Swied— I like you board rack. I did something similar with a Iron rail.
