Has anyone seen one in the flesh. Cast you eye over the shots and dims. I’ve made it wider than the fire wire one in their introduaction video. but im guessing the rocker.
ive got 2.3 inches in the tail and 3.5 in the front.
If you look close you can see the slight adjustments i have made from the first version, and the last few shots.
You can see a slight rounding and filling of the outline in the front third of the board and slight increase in the “flutes” in the tail.
6-8mm concave along the length “slight double within the deep single” around the fins.
I know the purest will hate that its a computer file at the moment, but its the best i can do at the moment. and its about three boards in the future yet…
I have to say that surfing boards I have made myself over the last few months is SO RIDICULOUSLY COOL that I just keep thinking about it.
I’ve always liked different, considering my first boards was a compsand simmons, the next was a rabbits foot, then a skinny simmons, my latest egg thing, the one im working on is almost normal, the “cornice” just looks so cool.
Here it is after the bulk of the finish shaping, I did it in the man arts block during lunch with a few of our surf excellence kids watching on.
But I left the stinger plane in the car so I couldn’t do the very final neaten up.
It just looks so narrow. I did it at the firewire dimensions to be true to the original design, it’s 17.5 at the widest point ant that’s 12.5 from the tail. So its 5’6" 17.5" 2.5" at 29.3 ltrs.
I also included a pic of Dann Mann’s latest little experiment which is a 19.5" wide by 5’6" groveller.
Yo…It did thanks mate…I thought I replied but you never know with this phone!!!..I’ll let you know how I get on and might go shorter and wider also to compare.

Robin and lance from gearbox have suggested them as a way to reduce bubbles and tenting as you can spend a little more time in them. Also in the gearbox installation guide they suggest that the edge of the glass sitting flag with the side of the box it good for strength. As you can see I have put a full V shape 4 oz fin patch over the whole area of the 5 fin set up. Just to make sure it’s all as strong as I can. The CET epoxy is so crisp and white has an almost blue tint to it.
