So since Windigo has decided to call it quits, I have begun a new project. A line of boards which I am designing and hand-shaping for the clothing brand Wellen.
Classy clothes.
This is the first batch.
5’4" Mini-simmons Actual George Greenough template.
5’8" Wing-pin Twin-Fin
5’8" Round Tail Bonzer (Inspired) Three
9’6" Longboard
All custom pigment colors and glass-ons.
Did all the work myself.
This Wellen thing has me feeling more enthusiastic.
It is nice to work with surfer-owned company again.
are these boards going to be marketed, or promotional for retail displays?
the logo is very cool, and very retro - “gentlemen’s surfboards” is almost an oxymoron, you know.
“James, fetch me a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, and throw my wetsuit and my purple Wellen in the Rolls, I think I’ll do a dawn patrol sesh tomorrow before the polo match” - ha! just kidding
I bought a windigo churchill after almost 6 years being out of the water, now I’m surfing 3 times a week. After checking out your website specfically your thoughts on “surfboard tech” i have decided to start shaping, you are an inspiration and I hope to get to shake your hand one day. cheers
You were way to good for those winkdingo posers, so its better that they’re gone. In my opinion they tried to use you to gain credibility in the surf market, but they couldn’t. Obiviously you will survive and thrive, while they bail and fail.
