What are you working on? Post your current project here
What? Are you crazy? Build threads here? Try Surfer Mag. No wait. I have that backwards. But you are crazy. Post the build pics. It is why we are here. All the best.
Hey Foam Hack...we love build threads

Hey Co Co...did I cut you off the other day,,,sorry about that.............ha ha just joking....You must be from SD.

5-9 x 18.5  stringerless EPS + Epoxy + Innegra

As it turns out, it's not that tough to vacuum bag a wet lam if you think things through in advance.   I even got a decent cutlap out of it.  Good enough to skip the pinline, anyway.

Sorry the surfermag picture links didn't work for me - was this your board?

Dammit, short of uploading big files into Quiver I’ve never had any luck posting images here.

Looks really good gdaddy. Details? Materials? Hard to tell from the pics as I see them on my laptop, but it looks like no stringer, correct?

Just finished this 6’10" egg. Acrylic deck abstract. resin pinlines. sprayed on opaque gray rail panels. Posting a link to photobucket. Not sure if it works.

Hey Bud thanks for putting those pics up, yes I agree that is a beautiful board!  Interesting shape too, looks like a "short longboard" type shape?

hey Bud thanks for converting the pictures. Yea that board is like a mini longboard. I left a lot of thickness in the nose and it has a lot of roll in the bottom. Not sure how it will ride but I am in to doing weird stuff. Playing around with new ways to do color.

i am including pictures of another board i did. The brown rail colors were sprayed using an HVLP gun. The color is tinted Zissner Shellac based white primer (kind of like Kilz only you thin it with alchohol) dries super fast and glosses over nicely. The white flecks were just sponged on using white primer. I wadded up a plastic baggie and used it as the sponge). Pinline is resin.

this is another photobucket link. No worries…it’s safe. (if it works) I am a photo/computer Kook.

Nice!

The combo of the white speck and reflection through the trees on the gloss is causing me to hallucinate, I love it. Is the rail painting done under the gloss with pinling? Thanks for sharing some new ideas.

Done under the gloss. Painted the rails first and then shot the pinlines. Gotta be careful when rubbing out the rails as it is easy to burn throught the color.

A2,

sick tear drop resin swirl! did marty help inspire that one? how’d you pull that one off?

cheers
