A good way to tint veneer should be to tint water base impregnation epoxy, spread on wood and let it cure flattened in vaccum bag so it doesn’t deform. This is how i prep my ash veneer (with clear resin) to try to fight against water intrusion shadow for my last wood deck board. Best should be to do it by infusion.
