Auslock, Auslocks AUSLOCKS!!!

Bumpity Bump Bump…

Quote:

Hey Hicksy.

I still have the board, but I still haven’t had a chance to ride it as yet.

As Mark mentioned, I have been really busy demolishing half of my back yard for a pool.

My part of the project has finished, for now, so I will get it out on my next days off next week. (with one eye on the lookout for sharks, there has been a few around here lately)

I will give a good go and then pass it on. I dont want to hold it up for too long.

When I got the board from Mark. the centre blue fin was loose. I replaced the screw that was put in with a new one and its right now. I was thinking about repairing the broken black fin, but I will have to sand it down where it goes in the box, re-laminate more glass onto it, sand it down again to fit into the box and drill another hole for the screw.

A the moment I hardly have time to surf so I dont want to hold it up for to much longer.

I will keep you informed

Cheers

Just a 6 weekly check up…helllloooo, who’s next?

Hey Guys

Well yes I still have the Auslocks board and no I still haven’t had a chance to give her a run.

This pool is just taking up too much of my time at the moment.

I have only had about 3 day that I wasn’t busy to try it out and every time was small, crappy wind chop. not worth getting wet.

It is really upsetting to know the the surf is good you are stuck at home erecting a pool fence.

I still have a lot of work to do at home and I dont want to hold up Auslocks any longer.

I was trying to hold on to her as long as I could so I didn’t miss out on my chance, but it isn’t fair on other people who are waiting for Auslocks to arrive in their area.

Maybe when I am all finished and if she is still around, I might have an other chance.

So who wants her??

I am in the Wollongong area.

OK who’s next???

I might get to have a go after all.

Go big mate!!!

Have fun and bring some friends to take some piccies…

Hi MDS,

I would be keen to give the board a whirl. I’m at G’gong so easy to catch up.

Cheers

No worries w4xhead

If you PM me your number I will give a call soon and we will arrange something.

You will have to come and collect it though.

If I haven’t got time to surf it, I won’t have time to deliver it.

Maybe I can get it back from you if you still have it when I finish everything at home.

Cheers

Hi MDS,

No problems with picking up, often going through your way.

But how to PM? That is the Question!

Good stuff w4xhead, hope you enjoy the ride!!!

Thanks for looking after it Mick…

Thanks Hicksy,

Got it sorted a bit earlier and have sent a PM to Mick!

Thanks for making the board available it’s a great idea. An Aussie version of single fin yellow.

I had been checking out Swaylocks for a couple of years and Auslocks prompted me to finally join up.

I will look forward to taking it for a spin.

Cheers

welcome mate !

if you do a view member directory search , ‘quentin’ lives a coupla kms from you too

he [ross] is a good friend of mine

cheers

ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the welcome, I’ve been picking up on threads over the last couple of years but not contributing.

Probably surfing the same spots as Ross and not even knowing it! 2 degrees of separation.

Has he tried Hicksy’s board yet?

w4xhead

No he hasn’t yet, might be a good excuse to meet up and have a sess together…

Have fun and report back…get piccies if you can…

PS: Don’t forget the secret Sway’s handshake…

??!

Waxhead, werri you gunna ride the board?? Ha, what a lame joke!. Im from albion park, which may explain the humour. Have fun on it mate

Hi Beerfan,

I was thinking of trying the board at Werri! But I might go further afield, maybe Werri Point if I’m feeling adventurous!

Your projects sound good. My latest was a 6’6" x 23 x 3 fish with keels. I’m using Motivation Lines (from Albion Pk Rl) fin boxes to allow for change of fins but happy with keels. I used polystyrene foam and epoxy resin, which was an experience.

Stripping back a mini mal could be a hassle as you tend to lose some width where foam comes off around the rails. Better to get a windsurfer or like that is nice and wide to start, or be careful and maybe sand of old glass around rails.

Have you tried the Auslocks board yet? Might catch up in the water at some time.

Happy brewing

Andy (w4xhead)

My minimal is 21 1/2 wide, and depending on how long i can get (its a 7’6’'), i’ll probably go down to 19 1/2 minimum, so i reckon if im careful i should be able to do it. Yeah, i rode the auslocks board, i couldn’t turn it very well, but, im hopeless on a thruster, and im not the worlds greatest surfer to start with haha. Mystics is usually as south as i surf, i normally go up to port, then make my way down if its no good there.

Cheers mate

Hi All,

Well it looks like I might be next in line in if Rosco doesn’t want it.

I had my first surf in seven months yesterday afternoon after a two level artificial disc replacement, and i am as keen as a grommet.

The board seems in line with what the Dr recommends I ride for the next few months.

I would be stoked to give it a go.

If the fin needs a fix up we’ll bring her back to new.

Mark if you still want some EPS I have just got some finished Mini-mal shapes from Lenny 30kg/m3, 7’9".

Just let me know.

Regards

Daren

G’day Ben,
