post Hull pics

Sounds good. How about in Ventura? People from both L.A. and Santa Barbara can attend since it’s about an equal distance. Besides nobody’s gonna get too bent out of shape if a bunch of hull riders show up at Stables (Vta. Fairgrounds) as opposed to Malibu.

We’ll need someone to take pictures as well. Anyone willing to volunteer their skills?

This coming weekend is the Arden Taylor surf benefit at C-Street in Vta. So how about a couple weeks after that?

I’ll volunteer my house for a post surf meeting place. I’ll make a huge pot of Jamaican jerk chicken stew, bunch of beer, wine, soda…We can even crank up the jacuzzi if the weather’s cool enough.

We have a spare room for anyone that’s considering a long distance trip.

Maybe we should make this a separate thread?

Vta is good with me, the closer the better!

ill start a new thread for it asap.

me too…

7’2" Stringerless and 9’4" SOS model.

What about the one in the middle?

8’6"?

looks like a different view of the stringerless…

but I would be interested to see an 8’6"

; )

The middle picture is the bottom view of the 7’2".

Oh yeah. Duh.

First glance I thought it was a bigger board cuz the picture was bigger (and I was hoping to see an 8’6" too).

hey spence … great boards … particularly interested in the 9’4 … can you tell us anything about it please? Also, do you have a picture of the rocker profile … if there was any chance you could post it i would be really interested have a look.

thankyou

Regarding the rocker profile on that board, if you look on page 44 of this thread there is a rocker shot of a another 9’4" SOS that Spence put up.

just had my hands on that stringerless-i think you are going to be stoked jim!

thanks for that … i’d seen that photo but hadn’t realised it was the SOS

Just arrived yesterday…

After seeing those two yellow 6’3’’ stubs I asked Greg for a 6’1’’

3’’ thick and thin in the rails…

great board - i was lucky enough to recently get one of the yellow 6’3s and just surfed it the last 2 days in a row - it’s awesome - easy to paddle, surprisingly good glide for one so short and amazing speed! It obviously is a lot quicker on the turn than my 7’6 smoothie but definitely still wants to be surfed from the middle or in front of middle. I am so stoked with mine - it is interesting that your board is that bit thicker and wider and a couple of inches shorter, please let us know how you get on with it - i’m sure you’ll love it. By the way, what do you weigh?

Surfed with mijknahs this morning at the Point and he had his new stringerless SPence hull. Absolutely beautiful board! Don’t want to steal his thunder so I’ll let him post his review of the board. Jim and family are coming over to our place for dinner tonight so we can talk about all of you. Ha! Or swap stories about surfing, shaping etc…

Great job Spence!

Marc

I was robbed!

Motif -

Still virgin, as the wind turned ugly today…

Really I am waiting for the 17th when friends and I travel

to a certain fabled baja point break; then the testing begins.

For me it will be one hull of a trip…

p.s. 190lbs of pure kook

Hey Motif, do you have some fins of medium to large size you can stick in those side boxes? I would really like to hear some unvarnished opinion on how it runs with those in (without the center) if you get a wild hair

yes, I’m interested. I have an 8’ Liddle shaped in 2003 that I rode for 4 years exclusively and a 7’ Pescado that I’ve had for about a month and like a lot, though it’s different from the Liddle in certain ways, but I can’t tell if that’s partly because it’s shorter.
