Essence of hull: beautiful lines and glasswork by PG

This one is my current ride. Got it from Spence: http://www.swaylocks.com/…tail_page.cgi?ID=445

A few changes since I got it.

and this is a sister board from the same batch - basically identical shape but now very different

flex characteristics as I’ve added 6 layers of 6oz. to areas of the deck in the spoon above to

properly “tune” it for me:

Beautiful “static” lines. Of course it all changes on a wave…

Floats flat until water gets onto deck

Very little flotation and really at home in/under the water

A nice window

Flextail…and it twists as much or more.

I came across this one today. I’m not sure how many are still in one piece.

I was over at Mr. Bojorquez pad yesterday and he was showing me the next batch of fins he refoiled for Mollusk surfshop, VERY NICE!! stuff all of them are a little different . I think they are going to the Venice shop.

got my copy of One California Day yesterday, watched and fully enjoyed it. Beautiful flick – and it was kind of nice that it was all California in fact.

I thought the hull footage of Gamboa was pretty good … but the footage of Tudor on a fish took the cakes on that one… beautiful swoops all over the place.

in my mind the most beautiful, sensual board ever!(velo) the “static” line photo says it all.PG is the spoon master, bar none…

DITO on that!

While in baja got a chance to ride a 8’8’’ Paul Gross. (Roger I hope you don’t mind)

What a blast that was! Got some really good waves on it and had such a amazing feeling,

the way it moved through the water… super fun riding on your belly and knees too.

P.S. Thank you again Roger, I hope this was not a problem…

Really great board... "El Paipo Grande"!!!

el paipo grande is indeed a blast! i was just like a kid with a big 'ol shit eating grin when i got to reel down a few on grande-so fun !

god gawd that looks fun! and you didn’t take old uncle stein with you? manana at the secret spot?

Hey, is that one of you (Motif or Steiny) in the photos on Liddle’s site (Norcal find)?

naw- one of my neighbors.

9’0 exactly … I should get the camera out to show what I mean …

Some new hull pics from Kirk Putnam.

A 6’10" Fineline, two 7’5" Liddles and an 8’3" Liddle “Supersmoothie”:

That fineline has parabolic stringers, this could be very cool , the board really has a whole different flex pattern. Its headed to Ventura for the local Hulloholics to test. The others are goin to Mollusk Venice , last of the Walker blanks.

I just looked back a few posts and realized Im pimpin stuff, Im just trying to let people know where to get the goods, if this bugs anybody, let me know. It used to be that you couldnt find this stuff unless you were in the know.

i spent a little time scratchin my head thinking about this… but in my mind, a parabolic stringer would reduce the kind of flex you would want. remember a coupla weeks ago we were talkin about flextails doing better on a wider tailed board? well i would think the parabolic stringers would reduce that flex - “torsional” is it? ( the twisting — especially if the stringers meet at the tail, as they do in the nose )

They werent setup to Brians specs , he just got them like that , so will see. It flexes like a stringerless but snaps back quicker.

I’m very interested in the parabolic stringers. I don’t want to be the experimenter though. Glad Brian decided to go for it. Hope we get to hear some feedback here.

The 8’3" Super-smoothie:

One of the 7’5"s. (Miller template):

Hey Kirk, how is the Miller template different from the Dirt template? They’re both pretty forward extreme.

but then on the other hand, a flexspoon has something akin to a parabolic stringer. ( except the two stringers don’t meet in the tail )
