Post your Hull pictures Second Thread

Jim,

It seems as if my 7’10" “in-betweener” is more like an “ID” than it does an “in-betweener”, or at least more “Hawaiikine”. What do you think? In this picture, it’s the third from the left.

Surgery went well, am now flying Vicodan Airlines with landing happening over the weekend.

While in my dream state, I picture three boards that I would like to own and ride: late 60’s 9’6" Yater Spoon, Midget Farrelly Stringerless, and a Fain Formula 2. Any comments? These boards must have influenced the Hull masters along the way.

“I get by with a little help from my friends!”

Hey Paul,

Glad to hear the surgery went well. Hope you get back on your board soon.

I think your 7’10" is kinda like an Id in the nose but probably more Hawaii in the tail. I think the Id is wider in the tail with more hips back.

Enjoy…

hi paul,

i own a 8’ g&S midget farelly stringerless v-bottom, i ride it every once a while at the cove, lot’s of fun, it really banks over in the turns with all that v…

Aloha Flo,

Have you had a chance to ride any of the new 4th Gear Flyers made of the new materials that PG posted on Surfmatters?

Is that G&S stringerless V- bottom very unstable? Were all of the Midget G&S boards made with v in the tail? Could you post some pics here of that board for all of the Hullabalooers to see?

hi paul,

no i haven’t ridden any of the new 4gf prototypes, i just know that paul sent a bunch to george to test them…

the midget farelly is not unstable, but it doesn’t trim very well, the v sort of kills the trim, the board doesn’t really release very well out of a turn because the v goes all the way to the tail, lot’s of fun nonetheless, just not my favourite malibu board…

i’m not sure about other g&s farellys but i do know that kp has an australian g&s stringerless farelly with a pretty severe v too…

i can’t figure out (neither do i have the time) to post pictures here but you are welcome to check it out in my shop…

and to think such creative genius doesn’t even have a cell phone…

hmmm- i never though about the connection between cell phone ownership and creative genius. whoa.

how was secrets tonight? i saw you on a high unusual wave riding craft as i rode by.

The 6’3"…“custom” 22 1/2" WIDE and bladed. So far so good. Pretty extreme, but so far has handled some steep small surf. I think a good day at boo,

with those flat faces, it will be Quite HP. This is another SQuat 'n trim day with a friend tryin it.

So how’s this compare with the “Fat Bastard”?

so who’s this bob miller guy?

Bob is a local shaper in Santa Cruz. He used to shape and glass with his brother for Advanced Surf Design.

Now doing some epoxy creations via Bluecoil, which has some info on him at their website.

He shapes just about everything from traditional longboards, composite windsail and paddleboards to micro quads for the kids.

Also shaped both finless boards of mine last year.

His hulls of late are more user friendly with volume and rocker but, will make them foiled and flatter too.

He is also a good friend… hope that helps!

Aloha Sean,

Have you ever taken a picture of your entire Liddle quiver?

It would make for a great post on Sways Hull Pics, and would generate much discussion for each of your many unique GLs.

I have only seen the individual ones that are on the Liddle site and those you’ve put on this post. But a group shot… now, that would be impressive.

Hey Paul

Ya know I have always wanted to.

As soon as I can finally quit this f–king bronchitis I think I’ll try it, maybe by the end of the month.

I have some of my boards on display in a collectors show at the college I work at, I’ll take some shots of the boards as displayed. It’s an evolutionary presentation.
