It seems as if my 7’10" “in-betweener” is more like an “ID” than it does an “in-betweener”, or at least more “Hawaiikine”. What do you think? In this picture, it’s the third from the left.
Surgery went well, am now flying Vicodan Airlines with landing happening over the weekend.
While in my dream state, I picture three boards that I would like to own and ride: late 60’s 9’6" Yater Spoon, Midget Farrelly Stringerless, and a Fain Formula 2. Any comments? These boards must have influenced the Hull masters along the way.
i own a 8’ g&S midget farelly stringerless v-bottom, i ride it every once a while at the cove, lot’s of fun, it really banks over in the turns with all that v…
Have you had a chance to ride any of the new 4th Gear Flyers made of the new materials that PG posted on Surfmatters?
Is that G&S stringerless V- bottom very unstable? Were all of the Midget G&S boards made with v in the tail? Could you post some pics here of that board for all of the Hullabalooers to see?
no i haven’t ridden any of the new 4gf prototypes, i just know that paul sent a bunch to george to test them…
the midget farelly is not unstable, but it doesn’t trim very well, the v sort of kills the trim, the board doesn’t really release very well out of a turn because the v goes all the way to the tail, lot’s of fun nonetheless, just not my favourite malibu board…
i’m not sure about other g&s farellys but i do know that kp has an australian g&s stringerless farelly with a pretty severe v too…
i can’t figure out (neither do i have the time) to post pictures here but you are welcome to check it out in my shop…
As soon as I can finally quit this f–king bronchitis I think I’ll try it, maybe by the end of the month.
I have some of my boards on display in a collectors show at the college I work at, I’ll take some shots of the boards as displayed. It’s an evolutionary presentation.
