Show us your resin tints and patterns!

good stuff, done a few black pigment boards and they show up any error or not even errors, the tiniest blemish or not 100% wet out spots, stuff you would never be able to see when you do a clear board…they come up a treat when polished…and yep, they sure do heat up but they look killer and stealthy inmo

just finished this one today…ripped the pic off of my instagram, so its a little bit extra-saturated, but you get the idea!

resin panel is a magenta tint, so you can see the abstract through it…I’m a proud papa!

one of the local gals wanted a purple board…this is epoxy so I did a foam stain, first attempt didn’t cover right so I did 2 layers w/ some pearl… I think it turned out ok… 7’6" single fin box.

Bud,

I love your work.

That deck looks to me like a surfboard-shaped blacklight.  I can hear electric humming and arcing just staring at the picture.  I also wondered the same thing as lllllibel about the bottom.  Don’t want to derail the topic of the thread, but I wouldn’t mind knowing more.

5’6" dim-SIM twin keel…

nice , mark !

is the right hand one a cotton fabric inlay ?

  and , do you have a few closer-up shots of the keels , [ homemade ? ] , please ?

keels arent homemade mate, shapers MC01, they go well in these boards…the other one is a fabric inlay of sorts , yep…

"of sorts "??

hiya Mark !

.....is it a computerised graphic , do you mean , Mark ?

isn't there a guy up your neck of the woods [?or the goldy, maybe ?]  who does the graphics thing[s] for laminating ?

  cheers !

  ben

there is but I dont like em personally, like the fabrics on these boards, especially if weight isnt an issue for the customer and these add a bit of strength under-foot…of sorts just meant that its not ya typical cotton, found a great and afforadable option…

A mini 'hockey stick' fin ....fluoro yellow tint , this is the outside edge [pre-foiling] . The inside edge is resin swirled.

...and , with some of its relatives .... a  family portrait !

By the way , the 'G10' material fcs one , is an 'M.R. TX'  twinfin trailer fin , just for a sense of scale ....

Blue Evolved

I posted this in its own thread, but I'll contribute to this thread also, since it is my third time using tint.

I cheated a bit, because the rails and deck emblem were done with colored tissue under glass, but then I glassed the bottom and the rail wrap over the tissue with green tint, and the tail patch was done with green tint also.

.... that's a good one !

what size and width and tail pod width is that please , huck ?

green looks great for boards , I reckon !

... as I don't have the "greenpin" of mine  any more , ' IF ' I ever make another board , it may well end up being another green spray ...or maybe a green , yellow , and blue resin swirled version of the "bushfire fish" ...maybe I'd call it the 'algae fish' , or something ??

  cheers !

Hey chip thanks the board is 7'4" by 22" by 3 1/8" the tail is 8" and 12" up its 16" IIRC.  I wanted a wider tail but was limited by the blank.  My template only fit the front 2/3, the back 1/3 my template was hanging over the edge of the blank.  I cut a little off the tail to widen it a bit.
