Up in the oc son, that’s sick about Jimmy, yea def let us know when those are done before you bag them up, I got to take some sick pics of those things for the site. From what I see those just look insane! Ps, theres a 9’11" coming in soon, its mine, so make sure you use the force on it.
It’s the bottom, and it hasn’t been sanded or anything, just lamed and hot coat.
The guy I’m making it for, wanted it to look like a Volcano or lava. Something with real dark then real bright. So the colors were what he wanted. I have to admit, after staring at Vaders previous posts I got tons of inspiration, and figures out a few of his patterns. So the board was, as you can tell a lot of different patterns, pours and what not. Anyhow thanks for the props.
I’ll get a deck shot later. it’s a Tangerine swirl & looks a bit more mellow than the bottom. But hey it’s what guy wants.
Also on a blank note. This is the first time I have used Ice9 Blanks. I have to admit that they glass up nicely(theres been so much other spongy resin sucking crap out there). I used 32oz of rez at 15 cc of catalyst, and it was 63 degrees out, so needless to say i didn’t over shoot it. Well the resin didn’t soak in the blank like a sponge after sitting on the blank for 15 mins. There were no dry patches and the glass stuck well to the blank with only 2 or 3 passed. The foam was good, except you had to mow a bit slower than an old clark blank, but the density was good throughout. There were a few bubbles in the nose that I had to putty up…about the size of an eraserhead or so. So after all that talk about deathgassing blanks, I think this might be a semi safer alternative to some of the other foam out there…It’s cane based, and made in the US. The down side is that it needs to be colored or it will turn brown, hence the full resin tint stuff.
