Looks like a green rocket.
Could we have some dimensions please?

So i got this tank on craigslist for a benjamin. A 10’7’’ Tustin. The deck is nice. The bottom, not so much. We’re talking sun damaged dings here, there, and everywhere. So i patched her all up and wanted to hide the scars. 4 cans of krylon “fusion for plastic” later and we have a spray-paint mexican blanket…
I glassed her up and I learnded a big lesson, heavey weave cloth does not go good with resin color paterns
Bleed, Bleed, Bleed = SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!!!
by the time I got around the board with the black it bled from pointy to roundy
should of did an abstract swirl or just a tint or solid.
well here she is…
the bottom
the deck and rails look killer!
some poor close ups
yes thats Fred Flintstone with the Royal Order of Water buffalo head dress
just needs sanding ,pin lines and a gloss polish
I think it looks F*&%^n cool! But… if you dont like it… you could send it my way…
very consistant pattern ken, now just to learn how to ge the flow out to work in your favor to achieve you goal.
anticipating how much a pour will flow out and change shape is what you must learn if you strive for complete control over medium.
i think im taking my camera to work tomarrow to snap spme pics of whats been going down at the globe.

K… real quick here is a board I just finished up, “Kyle’s Boards”. You can find the full process action shots too at http://www.swaylocks.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=377700 ENJOY!
Vader
thanks for the compliment on consistant patter
I think I would have got better results (crisper lines) with doing the color in 4 or 6 oz
do you concur?
the blue tint came out a nice shade, almost flourecent
well, good question.
what i have experienced is smaller tighter weaves make for lighter color work and the heavy like volan take alot of resin to get completely weted out.
as far as definition i agree that smaller weave pattern would hold the resin tighter.
but if you pour the right amounts and butt up the colors quickly shapes and tight lines are possible with all weaves.

so I guess I should of had a sqwirt bottle of the tint handy to block off the bleeding?
Learning, All the F,n time learning
alittle resin goes a long way,
i think a common myth is a lot of resin is needed to do abstracts.
the resin just needs to be controled as much as a liquid can be.

Hey Stubbies,
What did you print on? Rice paper or cloth. What kind of machine did you use to do the print?
I did a print that was pretty similar a while back when I had a corporate sponsor paying for the ink. The only down side was that up close the fringing effect gave me a headache.
this thread blows my mind.
mad propos to all the artists.
just made my day, thanks!
Hey tigermeat,
The print on the Oak Foils Kiddler is a cloth inlay (top and bottom). I purchased the fabric at a local fabric shop. I really like the pattern, it gives the board a trippy vintage feel/effect, but not enough to give me a headache.
“but not enough to give me a headache.”
arguable on that green one, but fantastic work.
