thats correct photoshop. you nailed it in one… i want customers to see the range if diversity we can do for them. one board is real in each pic and the rest are photoshop color adjustments. this way it makes it easy for our far away and internet customers to describe the color combo they would like. we still do lots of plotter stencil work too! actually there is over 400 different sprays on out website nowdays.
actually if you check on out the introduction on the art page @ http://www.diversesurf.com.au/diverse2008/sprays/sprays.php it says “Most of the work is created here in house at Diverse… Some is not. Your welcome to copy any of it! We don’t care… Imitation is the best form of flattery, But you can be sure the most satisfying feelings is from the art you create yourself.”
funny you should mention the boards........you want some pics?

ps this is the good cop/ not the pain in the ass haha
My boys and I wanted to try a landscape portrait on a 6’0" we were doing. We had so many different colors to try to catalyze that thing got rushed and we didn’t like the end results. We just threw a layer of 4 oz over top of the “landscape” and swirled it again. It was interesting to see how the colors overlapping in the center changed in contrast to the original swirl colors that you see on the rails. Both are not the prettiest work, but lots of lessons learned. Here’s the first and second attempt.
one time i was glassing my frineds bord and he was standing right there when i was doing the bottom abstract half way though and the thing goes “kick”! hadnt even pinned the rails.
i look at him and his eyes are huge. i go DAM and pull off the glass. squeegy everything flat ad pull out more glass and throw another abby. to this day he says its the coolest hes ever seen it like a marble soooo deep he hangs it in his living room and he says people stare at it for ours. his son and daughter both tell me new things they find in it every time i go by to say hi.
some times the coolest things come from mistakes.
Mudybech get out here to fix some golf courses get us a round a golf and bring the groms after golf well go back to the dojo and get you and the groms “Tuned in”
Classic resin swirl story!! I think that theres a lot of room for exploring in layering swirls with a base foam swirl and a cloth swirl over top. Was thinking of trying it on my 7’10" im building. I guess the trick is getting the right base colors on the foam so that you could wire how the cloth swirl colors would react. Maybe ill try a basic star/sun type pattern on the foam swirl and keep alot of white foam exposed so the colors could clash in harmony when layering the cloth… hell who knows… Landlocked in the mountains on Maryland at the moment building a golf course and the next one possibly in Ireland. Long way from Cali… But ill be back there sometime, no doubt and will look you up.
Not to be a prick or anything and I hate jumping into one of the best treads on here in a LONG time (pure porn) but Ireland REALLY REALLY doesnt need anymore golf courses.
So much of this country is being destroyed or segregated by the oweners of elitist golf clubs
The main developer behind this golf course also owns another in another county and is in the process of trying to run an old woman off her land just so he can put a t box where her house is(instead he built a 50ft wall of boulders behind her house and put it on top, as well as cutting away maybe 200ft of cliff face)
I have no affiliation to any groups mentioned in the above website and my only concern is for what will happen to our coastal regions in the future in the name of making money.
There are already cases where access to the ocean is being blocked or attempting to be blocked in different parts of ireland.
the trick is all in the wrist. the trick is in the pours the trick is all in the bucket the trick is to trick. there are no secrets only myths
Outstanding! My question, if you care to answer, is how to do that panel? Did you do a straight-to-foam swirl or is it a cut panel? Not sure about the terminology, but if you glassed it like that (cut panel), how’s the finish weight?

Vader,
Also tacking on to surfthis’s question…If you do swirl straight to the foam…
Does swirling directly on the foam mud more or can you obtain the crisp look that we see in your work with foam swirls?
