I love your work Keith

geez those are clean Keith.

nice work

sonn thanx..... not sure tip to tip dimensions board already sold ( i dont usually record those dimensions). but the tail (12" up) is 15 3/4"... other than that 6'x22 5/8"x 2 5/8"..... this fish was a custom order so it is a bit different than how i usually make my fishes, mainly the tail i pulled it in some per customer demands... i usually make the tail for that board any where from 16"  to 16 1/4".... I did get good feedback from the customer and you seem to like it maybe ill make a few more with the pulled in tial

here is a pic of what that template really looks like

pic

hey rasta. thanks for the pic. sweet swirl.

what i like about the pulled in tail is that the option to ride bigger waves is opened up to you as there is less foam in the water. yet staying responsive and controlled with the flowing rail bending in to the narrower tail. correct me if i am wrong, but what i have found is that fishes do really well in some bigger stuff and do  not need to be relegated to our summer trysts in slop trying to polish turds.

thanks again

heres my latest swirl,

glossed but not polished yet

6'3 ' mini LB with a pulled in nose

6.3 x 19.25 x 2.25 thick

That’s quality work, Ken. Nice blue, too.

thank you sir,,,, may I have another?

Is it the photo or are your rails fairly parallel with a distinct “break” in the curve at nose and tail?

I noticed that in the pic also

there is a slight bump at the front fins (intentional)

the rails are not paralell but it looks that way in the pic (shitty angle)

heres a shot of the outline before glassing

Ken,

What kind of ride do you get from that board?

tbod

this board is designed for a 9 yr old boy to learn on and when he gets more skillfill the board should be able to work and grow with him, not just get put away.

all my boards are one offs no copies.

as far as the ride goes,,, only time will tell, but the basics are instilled in the board so it will work no matter who's riding it.

features are,,,,

Probox thruster fin setup

mild single to double concave bottom

slight bump at front fins to help pivot when the kid gets better

pulled in the nose so it looks racey and lightens up the nose

I used natual rocker from a 6.9r just foam blank

60/40 rails to semi hard by the fins

4oz bottom and 4oz with 3/4 4oz deck

gloss polish

thanx again sonn.... ..I could not agree more, it seems that there is a misconseption that fishes are only for smaller surf. Im on the east coast we dont get juicy surf too often so i try and keep my stock fishes for mushy waves, just seems to sell better thats all.....to sum it up a fish with a pulled in tail will stay ahead of the fastest breaking wave, no center fin drag ,and more weight in the front of the board... it flys, only downside is for heavier surfers, or less experienced surfers the narrow tail can tend to be too loose... Im a firm beliver to get that magic board its gotta be custom made for you and your needs.

“Spanish” stubby, done half an hour ago:

…hello,

sorry for the delay,

wanna be s, may be?

…understanding, knowing a labor is one thing, not always go by hand with years and years of “experience”

many shapers don t even know how to properly do a glass work or even surf good! or even more, go to surf…

this type of guys only are copy cats and are everywhere.

this is not a pissing contest and is no my intention to start a polemic arg, etc

but you say years in the industry¿? where?

if I remember right, you came here couple of years ago asking about to start a shop and try to make a living out of that

with pictures of amateurish boards…

may be I m confused with another member.

A few recent colored laminations. All are UV cure poly, 4oz glass, pigment w/acrylic pinlines on the lam. No gloss coats - all are sanded hotcoats with a quick polish

Bud, let me say once again, I like your work.
