How is this design done? Looks like it’s painted onto the lam layer? Then you put the hot coat over it? Is there a specific type of paint to use?

Hey. It’s done all in the lam with pigments. I mixed them all, put them in squeezy bottles and ‘drew’ the shapes on there. Then I tinted the rest of the board and pulled off all the excess resin that I’d left at the back. The deck isn’t as clean cos I got lazy and ran out of squeezy bottles so i just used cups. And that’s basically it.

good on ya !
did you do similar on the deck , too ?
how big is that board ?
will you ride it as a single fin , a bit ?
It looks fun , i'm thinking something like a 7-7'6 would be nice for me to do / have , one day !
looks like a nice board-building setup you got there mate , and more blanks waiting in the rafters eh ?
cheers !
ben
Thanks Chipfins! Heres the deck. The board is a 7’2". Fcs on the rails and one 8.5" fin box. Right now shes got an 8" center fin, but we bought the fcs fin adapter for the fin box. It was 15 us dollars. With it i can put a normal fcs fin in the adapter and place it in the fin box. So it could be used as a thruster as well. I got to ride it on a 2-3 ft day and it was a blast. This is the 3rd board board ive made from this template. The template i made from a 7’6" walden. The room has a long way to go, but its getting there. Thanks again!

wow , you look good in a bikini [ but I don't!]
is it [the board ] around 21 " wide , and about 2 3/4" thick , by any chance ?
An 8" [and even a 7"] single fin , by itself, would be good in that
with a 2+1 / 'widowmaker' setup , [see marsh's previous 'phantom' board , here ] you could even go with GS sized sideys and a 6- 6 3/4 " back fin in under head high no worries [one of my favourite setups on my 6'6 walden 'CD4']
nice job on the cutlaps , sir !
ben
yeah its 21"x2 5/8". Shes going to mess around with a few setups, we’ll she what she ends up liking the most. Im trying to get good with the cutlapping, ive really hacked some others up. this is my 6th board and im learning a lot with every board. I just recently started reading up some more here on swaylocks. this place is amazing.
you did a really good job , from what I can see ...
what did you use , to do the pinlines with ? pigment ? pen ?
cheers
ben
....yeah , swaylocks is DEFINATELY a GREAT resource , eh !
Auto pin stripe tape that i bought from surfsource.net . i used acrylic paint with a sponge brush. then lightly sanded it.

[ I just saw the 'eggzackly' thread ....THANKS for the dimensions and fin setup shots , there ! this is a stubby / egg ...nice indeed ! ..... I like how 'etherealprodigy' is telling YOU about pinlining, mate ! hahahaaa ...the apprentice surpasses the teacher , eh ? oh the youth of today ?! hahaha hilarious ]
cheers mate !
