whats going on there resindrums?
nice one pico! does the black penetrate easy enough through the original color pours?
do you chuck it on after initial squeegeeing and leave it thickish?
i did a bottom yesterday not too impressive but im happy enough. my orange dye i thought was bright from a test turned flat on the board…maybe i used more dye then in the test…if i just did more tests on colour combos FIRST i think i would of had a winner!
i had a plan set but as soon as the cat. went in the plan was jumbled/lost…
i got the colour separation in the swirls anyway. im thinking of highlighting everything with black and/or going over it all with a pale red to see it if can make the primary-ish colours more, dont know the word im after…er… good.

A tail Eps epoxy resin pull.
Interestingboard Nocean. I would irrestiably drawn to do cheater fives on that board!
hi mate just wondering what the gel times are with cet epoxy, how much time do you have with it, and what does it sand like, im using resin research at the moment but thinking of giving it a go on a sup i got to glass, any help would be muchly appreciated thanks micah
with CET, depending on the weather, it normally takes around 2 hours to gell, then 4 hour flip time, 8 hours till you can sand it. John gave me a bottle of additive for the filler coat which makes sanding easier, but it still doesn’t sand as well as poly.
the thing is though, you can;t leave it in the cup for more than a minute or 2 after you mix it or it will exotherm and become unworkable, so you need to get it on the board and spread it out. it doesn’t kick and gell like poly, it just gradually sets. i’d say you probably have around half an hour to forty minutes before it starts to thicken up too much to work with.
my schedule when doing say a 3 colour tint would be:
mix resin with colours in individual cups, do not add hardener yet
mix hardener in first colour, pour onto board and wet out laps, but don’t tuck
as above for second colour
as above for third colour
using clean squeegees (or dirty ones that match the colours) tuck your laps from middle to tail, then middle to nose as you would normally
it doesn’t matter that you may be tucking your last colour first, as the first two colours will just be starting to get tacky, but definately still workable at that stage. the whole process takes me probly 20-30 minutes for 3 colours. if it’s 1 colour, i knock it out in about 10-15.

I've never pulled off a perfect Poly Swirl like ResinHead or DarthVader. And I don't think I'll ever get there because I jumped on the Epoxy band wagon. So I'm working on getting colors to "POP" with Resin Research.....1/2 finished board....we're getting some things sorted out.......Low Tech Lab...
Well Done!
You’re hired!! I’m going to show this to our glasser and tell him he has some serious competition.
loving the one above!
here are some from the past week or so:

For Chip and Atomized and Surfding....Thanks!!! I did a thread on that board. I need to find someone that wants to give me shaped blanks....so I can blow out some crazy colors....It's all for fun.......
Ray...
Ray you want shaped blanks? why didn’t you say so? I’m your huckleberry (no offense to Mr. Huckleberry, of course!)
Ray,
Spots are poly. Only my 4th board, haven’t got into epoxy yet.
2 new ones, both wanted paint, wish they wanted resin work but they came out pretty good. Stingray awesome job man! always impressed, were doing a mexican blanket in epoxy tomorrow, hopefully it comes out as good as yours.
